Anyone have both the Chinook II and III? From what I understand, the only difference between them is the grind. I would think they would be ideal for comparing the performance of hollow vs. flat grind. I tend to prefer full flat grinds, but some of my favorite :spyder: s are hollow ground. Hollow g...

[quote="mckinngk"]I&#8217] Do you not expect to get hammered for essentially claiming that Benchmade is better (especially being what appears to be a 'troll')? Spyderco categorizes their Chinese outsourced models as Byrd...they mark the production location on all of their blades. As fa...

As said VG-10 is a (what seems to be exclusive) Japanese steel. Other than Al Mar and Spyderco, no one else mass produces it. Certain Moki knives will use VG-10, but these knives are butt expensive.

I don't think a knife can be built for the price which will last as long as the older gen Delica and Endura...now I am not saying the gen 4 will not last just as long...just that it is a physical impossibility to build something that will last as long. Also, as Paul said, you will have a lot of peop...

Proves nothing except that some knives hold up better or worse to things they should not be used for. I do not like this guy or Cliff Stamp. I wouldn't call either that no Cliff's stuff scientific evidence but it shows how much effort those guys need to break stuff like a Strider or a Chinook. It u...

Strider Destruction

This guy got a lot of crap on Blade Forums, but he did what he said he would and proved how strong a Strider and CPM-S30V is. This knife takes an amazing amount of abuse before breaking and I mean amazing...it is NUTS

The Chris Reeve 'Sebenza Integral Lock'. Benchmade is the exception as they do not do it right. Sebenzas and Striders will not develop blade play. The Reeve Integral Locks on Spydercos do not develop play to my knowledge either.

Most every lock with one exception will develop blade play over time. This does not affect the locks performance under pressure. The vice works as does the hammer practice on the lock backs.

Benchmade seems to give designers credit and that is it. Locks and opening methods do not seem to apply. While I personally do not see this as right, others may feel a different way and apparently some legislation does as well. Spyderco will credit all designers on individual parts of the blades. Ex...

Replace the washers...if need be, you may need to 'double up' with traditional ones as some Spydercos seem to be happier with non PB washers.
