In most cases it's just like sharpening a regular knife, only you have two edges to sharpen instead of one. Just remember you can't push down on the back of the blade, since there's going to be another edge there:-p. Agreed...I've done this a few times, luckily I do not use much pressure when sharp...

That fact of the matter is any knife over 100 bills is MUCH, disproportionately harder to sell, than knives under 100 bucks. Many dealers have told me this. Additionally, the Millie is a 4 inch blade. G10 offers amazing grip and strength. It also does not wear. Most people buying the Military model ...

I love combo Spyderco knives only. Spyderco's serrations are much more aggressive than others and they cut like a longer blade than they actually are. I had a SS CE D4 and I loved it. My buddy not loves it. Unless you are doing heavy cutting requiring a large blade, the Spyderco CE Delica fits the b...

I have heard of this many a times and part of using a blade or gun as a self defense weapon is being prepared to face legal consequences. Unfortunately, it is quite often that the defensive side will do better legally if they kill their attacker. Conservative states indeed often give more defensive ...

Hello all I'm considering a para millitary model now and would like to know if owners of this model have experienced edge chipping under light usage? I read commonly it is found that S30V blades tend to blunt by chipping at a microscopic level. Have you all found this to be true with this steel? Th...

Zac, Do you have any experience with BG-42 ? How does it compare with S30V with respect to edge retention, chipping, sharpenability, etc ? Thanks. To my understanding, BG-42, an older ball bearing steel, was abandoned in favor of newer steels because BG-42 is amazingly hard to heat treat and obviou...

A2 is a steel which indeed needs a coating and even then should have an element like Tuf Cloth applied occasionally...especially when exposed to elements which can be corrosive. Keep in mind the major selling point of A2 is extreme impact resistance and good edge retention. Reeve uses the KG Gun-Kot...

CPM-S30V was the first steel designed exclusively for knives, pioneered by Chris Reeve. It is an American steel, made by Crucible Materials Corporation in Syracuse, New York. When hardened correctly, it runs 58-60 on the Rockwell Hardness Scale with a pleasing edge retention even when sharpened on a...

Spyderco uses premium steels on all of their blades, and almost every steel is excellent in what I call the big 3 1) Edge retention 2) Impact Resistance 3) Corrosion Resistance While some of my peers may not agree, I see S30V as the prime cut and balance of these 3 features as it is an amazingly imp...

Troll? Come on, can't a new guy make a comment? My next knife is going to be a Spyderco (no new BM's interest me - I have the 3 models I like), so why not be part of the board? Yes, I do think that GENERALLY BM's are made better - fit and finish. It's my opinion, and the opinion of many dual BM/Spy...
