random question-
regarding added toughness with cruwear, M4, 3v - will it make a noticeable difference in keeping a fine tip like on the Millie from dulling or blunting? Compared to s30-110v type steels

UKPK - for cost reasons. Manix is probably the best option to really test performance though...

My GoldenStone came in
And I can see why people really like this design. I am about to go mess around with it now on my Pac Salt. I am leaving it in the kitchen for quick tough ups on Kitchen knifes. Love the design! Way to use your brains Sal and Co, seriously, very creative design!

Re: Fixed Blade Friday!
This thread inspired to me to IWB carry my waterway all of Friday! Even in shorts and the hot AZ weather, it was a pretty easy carry. I dig Fixed Blade Friday

Re: Jumpmaster 2: 3v and PlainEdge
How much tougher is 3V then LC200N? I was under the impression that LC200N is very tough, similar to H1

Tips for UF bench stone?
My UF Bench Stone arrived the other day and I have just begun to fiddle around with it. But, it is unlike any other stone I have worked with and am curious if there are good tips or tricks you guys have? For example, I was cleaning the powdered steel off the stone with a regular papertowel and water...

Re: Ikuchi - fantastic knife!
What’s it like to use if you have big hands? I really like Paul Alexander’s designs, but the slating the Ourobous* got for simply having Teflon washers should have been a lesson learned. Nick S’s video review probably killed that model. *FWIW I use a silicon lubricant on mine and it’s fantastic. It...

Re: Spyderco Waterway Impressions
Got my waterway today! Impressions - The handle is a little thinner then I expected, but still fills the hand is super grippy. You can tell this is made for water/bloody slippery conditions. I love the blade size, handle, overall length, and holster. Stud of a knife! I will play with the steel in th...

Ikuchi - fantastic knife!
I placed an order with KC (pre order) and it was delivered 3 days later. What an amazing knife! Action is smooth and the flipper tab is great, F&F is dialed in, and it is sleek and stylish. The cut out of the comp lock is small, but it works just fine, and I think that was required to keep the k...

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder
I pulled the trigger on the Ikuchi! Pre order at least. I hope it comes in soon. Now, let’s see how much I can get for Stretch... thanks for the options and info fellas! The uniqueness of the Ikuchi is appealing, specifically the blade shape and the blade disappearing into the handle. It may be a me...

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder
Cool! That is great to hear. From a pricing perspective, I think that Ikuchi is my target. I do not "need" anything better then S30V, especially on a folder that will not see hard use.

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder
I just realized that everything I have that I would consider as a gentleman folder is from Taichung. What up Golden?! https://i.imgur.com/MBXiJGt.jpg Edit: I take it back ;) https://i.imgur.com/KxE1FAY.jpg What are your thoughts on the Ikuchi's comp lock? That design looks interesting and unique. I...

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder
Dang that chap handle is smaller then I thought, compared to the delica. But I bet it works nice with the choil. The stretch is awesome, I just never carry it. I either go smaller or larger, but recently I realized my only “upscale” knife is my Millie which is too large to carry sometimes.

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder
Let me add to my post above: How about "pimping" your Stretch into something more gentleman-like? Aftermarker CF scales for example? ;) (I know, that would be quite expensive, for you logically would not have the funds from selling the Stretch). Haha, I like the idea of “pimping” my curre...

Re: mid sized "gentleman" folder
I should clarify. I was hoping for an upgraded handle material. Ti or CF, something upgraded. I have almost all FRN and love it, but wanted 1 knife a little nicer.
I keep comparing a mantra 2 vs a 0450 ZR right now. Any other similar sized options I am missing?

I almost want to get real weird and get a Parata. VG 10, but it looks so funky!
