Re: Shiny spots-please help.
The others have given solid advice for fixing the immediate issue, so I'll just add: You may want to pick up a loupe. An inexpensive jewelers loupe can really help diagnose edge weirdness. I saw Sal recommend one a while back, and as always, he knew what he was talking about (that kid is going place...

Re: Knives - FRN with Liners
The chaparral lightweight is frn with liners. Very solid feeling, yet with a very slicey thin blade. Great knife.

I'm generally not a tanto guy, but the Lum is an exception. It really does look good. Very nice collection.

Re: Your Ideal Folder for Hiking & Backpacking is....
Salt 2 in lc200n. Don't need a knife much during backpacking but you definitely don't want to be without if you need one. The salt is ultra lightweight, tough and capable. On a side note, it would be cool if Spyderco offered a backpacking knife in a bright blue for easy visibility in the woods. Salt...

Re: Is the Urban back at 2.61 inch blade ?!
The standards n690 version is listed at 2.61 on the website too. The recent Sprint in damasteel is listed at 2.44” so that seems to indicate they changed the length of the standard back to 2.61, but I certainly have no inside info. There's a possibility someone pulled an old spec sheet. If you want...

Re: Manix 2 LW deep carry pocket clip
The manix 2 lw comes with a wire clip, but it isn't folded over to make it deep carry. .... Very luckily for me... ;) I generally prefer shallow carry as well, particularly on a big knife like the manix, it's nice to have something hanging out to grab. I would prefer an hourglass clip on medium to ...

Re: Manix 2 LW deep carry pocket clip
I thought the clip that came with this knife was already a deep carry wire clip?? I'm confused. The manix 2 lw comes with a wire clip, but it isn't folded over to make it deep carry. As far as I know it's the only Spyderco wire clip in production that uses this style. I got curious and put my kapar...

Re: Crazy Deals that are Non Spyderco
DLT has the Kershaw federalist double detent slip joint for $70. Looks like a deal for a US made knife in CPM154 with micarta handle. Regularly goes for around $115 (MSRP of $195).

Re: FRN Chaparral internals compatible with Maple Chaparral?
I'm surprised no one else with more knowledge chimed in. Something occurred to me after posting before. I'm pretty sure the chaparral has an internal stop pin, so a blade/lockbar swap may not be as straight forward as a normal back lock. It could work, but added complexity adds possible points of co...

Re: Knife Center Exclusive Native 5, Cruwear + Smooth G-10
Add me to the list of folks who like this config. I have the manix. I'd rather have satin(all black is a bit tacticool for me), but the cruwear and smooth g10 is great. The handle feels plenty grippy for me (it's smooth but not polished) and is easier on the pocket than textured g10. I prefer cruwea...

Re: FRN Chaparral internals compatible with Maple Chaparral?
I thought they were all the same with nested steel liners except for the titanium models which were linerless. Learn something new every day.
If they don't swap, I think RC Bladeworks makes some nice aftermarket scales.

I'm not flush with money to burn but hope that we have not seen the end of Native Chief model. If the models come out slowly, I'll keep buying or ask my Secret Santa if he can pick one up for me to buy from him. I'd love to see a Native Chief in 204P/20CV/M390/S110V/S45VN/Magnacut!!! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53402297975_e80f5cc794_b.jpg i prefer the hump, thinner blade, and larger hole of the endura, but the choil and ergos of the native. looks like the stretch and military 2 will be the winners for me over the chief and endura. Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!
As far as dimensions, I compared one of my chiefs to my endura and eyeballing it, it looks like the chief has about 5-6mm more blade but at least half of that is choil, probably only 2-3mm more edge. The chief also looked 2-3mm longer closed. Close enough that it would be difficult for me to tell t...

Re: Native Chief Lightweight!!!
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53400896552_56dc6213e7_b.jpg To me, this is the second biggest reason I prefer the chief to the endura (the biggest is handle ergos). The lack of hump makes for much better pocket carry. Takes up less space and doesn't snag on the corner of my pocket when I pull ...

Re: Where Have all the Calys Gone?
I like the ukpk. It served me well when I had to work in England with their silly laws but now that I'm back stateside, a lock back version would be awesome. Would definitely buy, particularly if they keep the ukpk's thinner stock.

Re: Top Steels and Scales for another Kapara sprint?
S90v with a nice textured(not polished) micarta for me. I don't carry my kapara much because the slick contoured CF scales, while beautiful and comfortable in use, make it jump out of pocket and slippery to hold while closing. I think grippier texture on the scales could solve both issues.
