Re: Debating Seki or Golden
I agree with D, if you don't get what you really want, you will swing back and get it eventually, so might as well be patient and get what you really want sooner. The Endura is not much larger than the Endela folded up and in your pocket. From those 2, I would just get the Endura. I think they are ...

Why'd they make it bigger? Have people's standers just changed? It doesn't seem like a very popular model. Maybe they were just trying to give it more traction. Thoughts?

Re: Rivers Edge Cutlery Upcoming Exclusive
I ran smooth but the exclusive didn’t show up until after in sold out for me.WilliamMunny wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 1:08 pm600 orders in 4 minutes and the site was totally smooth. They did a great job as always. It was hard but I did pass on this one in hopes they will make a Scorpion version in the future.

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
I don't think Seki back locks develop lock rock. Maybe, but I don't think so. I think some just have it while others don't. Probably a tolerance difference from Seki to Golden in comparing their back locks. Usually if you get one with it, it has it right out of the box. In my small sample size, it ...

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
Not for me. I like K390 but I prefer Magnacut because it's corrosion-free, tough, and still wear-resistant. So in that regard, it's no. I prefer backlocks, liner locks, frame locks, BB locks and slipjoints to comp locks, so in that regard it's also no. For me, the PM's blade is at the lower end of ...

That's actually a surprising number of "yes's" considering how particular I was and how different everyone's tastes are.

Still carrying the REX native 5. I’ve started noticing rust approaching the pivot where I’m unable to clean it.

time for a new avatar ;) I didn’t realize so many people hated dlc! Or micarta for that matter. Or the pm2 at that! 🤣 Work with me people! As a side note. I’m sure you’re aware of this, Vivi, but just in case. BB57645A-AE75-48F1-99FC-259EF07B0CCE.jpeg (My first thought when I saw this was it needs ...

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
On a PM2 I would want a tougher steel. I like K390 though. I would love to see it DLC treated. I have seen a reviewer who liked the Japanese heat treated K390 over the Golden K390 but I have not done a test myself. I consider the PM2 with its thinner tip better suited to the likes of Magna Cut with...

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
Today, I finally noticed a bit of surface rust on my K390 PM2 (which happens to be wearing Green Canvas Micarta scales from RGT). First time I've had any trouble at all with it in two years - I guess I put it away wet, or something. I got most of it off with an alcohol pad, and will try a scotch br...

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
I know triple b has said that spyderco’s k390 is probably their best preforming folfing knife steel if you don’t take stain resistance into account. And I think I’d have to agree with him… Which got me thinking why can’t we just dlc it and make it perfect? From what I understand DLC is porous still...

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
The g10 is not the important part I just threw that in because I thought it would be a popular choice. Do you just prefer to see a nice patina? I find dlc to be very practical. Though I prefer non coated esthetically.Wandering_About wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 7:29 pmI'll take my K390 uncoated, and still prefer G10 on a PM2.

Re: Is a DLC coated pm2 with k390 steel and green canvas micarta basically the quintessential folding knife?
no. knife is small and corrosion resistance matters. I have some dlc coated 4v and those knives rust about as easily as uncoated cts xhp for me. Edit: Sometimes I forget how non-mainstream your knife views are! Most people would consider the pm2 to be a big knife. It’s always interesting hearing yo...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
It's odd. I've noticed a lot more Native Cheifs, Militaries, shamans, and other large spydis the last few days. Does this mean fall is upon us?
