Sam, I've also been thinking in this direction. I'd like to see a fishing/filleting knife made out of H1 and further more; a mid sized camp knife, like the Temperance or Perrin Bowie to use in wet conditions.

My answer as always: Military PE. There are however some issues I'd like to see being improved. The Military is a big knife. Therefore, the lanyard hole should, IMO, be larger. I'd like to attach a thicker cord than the flimsy one that I use today. The Military should also be offered with left/right...

Sam, You're right! However, my Persian arrived in November, so in a way, it is an -03 model, though not on paper. I like the DoDo very much. The only issue I have with this knife is the blade shape. I don't have much use for the reversed S-shaped blade. Because I am a hunting-, fishing guy, the Pers...

Best Spydie of this year?

Now that this year is almost over, what is your choice on this years' best knife?

My choice has to be (sorry all DoDo fans): Persian! (IMO outstanding quality and design)

Sal, I find this kind of behaviour (Neil's and Les's) revolting and disrespectful! In my mind this design is simply a carbon copy of a Spyderco invention. The fact that there are three holes doesn't make any difference as long as the largest hole is used in order to flip up the blade ! That's simple...

One of three holes is still a hole...

Have you seen the latest BM 630? The knife has been designed by Neil Blackwood. Very nice indeed and IMHO a serious competition to a number of large Spyderco folders. So far so good. However, the knife opens by using a hole (one of three, whereas the other two are decreasingly smaller). My feeling i...

Another vote for the Delica. Besides, how hard can it be to remove the black paint from the clip and polish it up?

What # is that Delica (just curious)?

I always carry a favorite trio: Victorinox Voyager, Spyderco Military and (round the neck with a PhotonII and a my ID shield) a Micarta Jester.

I believe they are Jesper. I spoke to Peter Hjortberger (Fällkniven) and he had some bali's on sale some years ago. AFAIK, only springloaded knives are totally prohibited. However, you should know that carrying a knife is generally not allowed if you can't proof that you are going on a fishing trip ...

I have both the Arc AAA and the Photon II. I prefer the Arc. It runs on regular batteries and it just feels sturdier. Also the Arc is waterresistant, whereas the Photon is not.
