The last three Probes that I saw were at knife shows. One of them sol;d for $175 and the other two were priced close to that. Be on the lookout for Probes with the rubber lanyard that came with them. It is made out of surgical tubing, or equivalent. Mine is bright yellow. Spyderwa Rare Spydercos www...

Keep in mind on the "Q" knives that there are a few prototypes that were made that are unaccounted for. Our friend at Spyderco that is writing the article should be able to shed some light on the various models. As far as the website goes, I still need a good picture of the ceramic probe t...

The TTZ Probe is indeed a rare one. I have only seen one picture of it. This was Spyderco attempting to push the envelope of new materials. I believe it was a hardened ceramic. Maybe the closest cousin is the Sharpmaker? Spyderwa

I have a list on my website of the rarer Spydercos. It is not perfect as there are a number of special models that are sometimes shared with workers and friends that never make it out in the open. Spyderwa

There are Dive Probes and Mini Dive Probes. I have seen them go for as little as $125 to $200. As always, the amount that an item is worth is only dependent on what you are willing to pay. Some people have gotten lucky and stumbled onto one sold by someone that was not aware of their value, but that...

The ball knot is also known as a monkeyfist. It helps if you put something round inside. Here is a link that does a good job of showing how to make it. http://www.angelfire.com/pa4/t173/monkeyfist.html The first one takes a while, but after that it is easy. The handle of the Dragonfly has never fit well in my hand. I think it should be a little fuller without being longer. In the picture included I have moved the hole forward, added a barrel nut to act as a ferrule since this is often a keychain knife, and reshaped the top of the knife for more control...

From what I can see there were a lot more Spyder-edge versions than plain. At least in the standard configuration. If you look at my webpage with the "Q" gallery you see both types with the majority being Spyderedge. When I have found them in stores, they are usually Spyder-edge. Spyderwa ...

The address listed on the return address is not the real sender on this virus. The virus scours the victim's computer for email addresses and installs those as phony return addresses. So if you get a virus email it probably does not come from Sal or anyone else listed as the sender. That is what mak...

When I was a kid I had a pet tarantula. Real slow moving, ate flies and other bugs that I could find. One day it was crawling on my shirt and it made it's way under the front onto my chest. Maybe I was rough when I pulled it out, but it had it's fangs out. That was enough for my spider ranching days...

I have had a few stainless handled Spydercos that I brought back to life with a Scotch-Brite pad. It had enough texture to give the handle the same original "brushed" finish. Of course like any advice, try at your own risk. Spyderwa

This is not a person sending out emails to forum members. All it takes is for the virus to get into one computer where it scans for email addresses which it then copies and sends out using the scanned email addresses as the return address. The owner of the infected computer may not even know this is...

Simona is right. Here is a link to an PC World article about the virus. Evidently it harvests email addresses from the victim's computer than sends out email with the harvested email addresses listed as the sender. That is why you might get mail listed as returned to you even though you did not send...

After handling a couple of the Ti model and noticing differences between them I have concluded that consistancy must not be one of the strengths of this German manufacturer. On Japan and US made Spydercos they have the same look, feel, and operation model to model. Spyderco is pretty fussy about wha...

I was having lots of problems with battery life using ni-cad batteries. Then I tried Nickel Metal Hydride AA cells. This has allowed me to go 100% digital. Before I was not willing to trust batteries on trips.
