Re: Microjimbo

I love tacticool more than most people, my inner mall ninja cries out for the microjimbo. But for Utility.... Lil Native Wharncliffe, with it's handle shape, choil, and negative blade angle is the way to go.

Anyone else hoping for a 15V Wharncliffe Lil Native?

I'm really hoping for a 15V Wharncliffe Lil Native or other sprint/exclusive version of that knife. Anyone else?

The "Charisma" is made in Golden. Eric has been working on refining the design for 3 years anyway.

Niiice👍🏻 couldn't quite make it out on the blade. I was curious, not many models debut in FRN, tooling expense and all.

Re: Upping the price.

"Low cost, high quality is the bait.". Boy isn't that the truth. Like I said in my post, to overcome my strong aversion to buying from that particular country of origin, Unique Design, is the barrier to entry. If it's a design I can get somewhere else. I will. But secondary to that, the l...

https://i.ibb.co/GpKXHmG/IMG-20210414-224234-224.jpg My first Wharncliffe Delica (the burnt orange hap40 sprint) customized with Flytanium scales, and REK (razor edge knives) milled titanium clip. From a purely practical point of view I´d prefer FRN - but man, this is a great looking Delica and mus...

Re: Tanto blades

Does Spyderco only make tanto blades in limited runs for “Distributor Exclusives”? I want a black one. Are they all DLC, or are there any TCN? Black Cruwear or Magnacut would be nice. Maybe black micarta scales, but I’m not sure about that. The unfortunate short answer is yes. Currently only the Ta...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

I am very tempted to go full Vivi edge on this thing 12dps 200grit. I do worry about chipping the edge, it is tough but it's not steel after all. There won't be any rolling if I bang the edge. Im at 15dps now. Anyone go lower yet? A thought and a question for sal too, has the spyder-crew tried to pu...

Re: Spyderco 2024 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

S90V PM2 could easily be the only knife you'd ever need. I'm not one to settle, but it's a great steel and knife (I have the dlc version).

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Hi Matt, Unexpected performance? It's strange stuff to be sure. I found that my HIC Mule would have no problems slicing tomatoes. Though it didn't "feel" sharp enough to slice a tomato. Normally I would grab a serrated Spyderco to slice a tomato, so I was actually surprised that it worked...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

.... so 15 dps. Sharpened to 3000 grit diamond. Edge now measures 436BESS 😕😭 I'm using a jewlers loupe. Apex is clean. So far I'm not liking this material🤣 *edit* .....well now thats interesting. https://i.ibb.co/zF1rNS5/20240221-183942.jpg Terrible BESS score, won't shave hair, BUT smoothly cuts ca...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

So I got around to testing the edge. 232-239 BESS. Not that sharp (for me). I tried stropping through a progression of 5-.25 micron diamond paste on leather.

It made the edge worse. 297-303 BESS. Never had that happen before. Stropping always improves the edges for me. Interesting result.

May as well throw my 2 cents in regarding Chinese 'Value Knives'. For purely political reasons, I avoid Chinese made products of all kinds. I won't bore you with the politics, I'll just say I'm moderately passionate about it. It is however nearly impossible to avoid buying some goods from there as t...

Soooo I was thinking, what kind of jam are you guys putting in PBJ sandwich? Is there some kind of a rule what type has to go in? Grape, Orange Marmalade, Blueberry, or Raspberry for me. Call me weird, it is what it is. As long as it's not Petroleum, I think any jelly or jam people favor is accepta...

Re: You got your Ceramic Mule. How you gonna sharpen it?

Haven't had a chance to do anything but look at it yet😂 Wasn't sure if I'd get a read with the Laser Goniometer, but looks like 16 and 14 dps if the readings accurate. I'll have a better idea when I sharpen. I could see what looked like a micro bevel with the 10x loupe. My sharpening plans are thus....
