Re: Fishing knife

I don't abuse my knives but I am concerned the Waterway's tip may not be as durable as the Aqua Salt. If anyone owns both please comment. I don't own the Aqua Salt, but I suspect you are right. I went for the Waterway anyway, because I like everything else about it, and I figure the tip is durable ...

Re: Fishing knife

The satin yellow Aqua Salt has not been discontinued so I’m sure it will be back in stock eventually. I haven’t checked any retailers but there are so many these days that someone might currently have it stock. The Waterway has been my Saltwater fishing knife for a couple years now. Handles everyth...

Fishing knife

I'm looking for a new plain edged, fixed blade, salt water fishing knife but don't care for the looks of the black blade on the current Aqua Salt. Will the yellow handled, uncoated blade Aqua Salt ever return? What about an Aqua Salt with a LC200N uncoated blade? The Waterway may be an option, are t...

Salt Series and washers

Do any of the salt series knives have washers, or have they all been removed to improve the rust resistance of the knives? I'm looking for something larger than my Dragonfly2 Salt to take fishing in salt water and don't care if it is H1 or LC200N steel.

Re: Police 4 Lightweight Observations

I thought the steel for the P4 lightweight was supposed to be k390? I remember a video with Eric stating that I'm pretty sure. Can't speak for others but VG10 works better than K390 as an EDC for me due to the corrosion resistance. I'd rather touch up a little more often than scrub rust out of pivo...

Re: H-1 first impressions

I prefer H1 to LC200N, because of the finger printing I've experienced with LC200N. It may dull some while out fishing but I can bring it back to razor sharp quickly with the Sharpmaker.

Re: Chaparral LW in colors, please

I'd appreciate the Dragonfly and the Chaparral both being available in the same colors as are currently available on the Delica/ Endura. I'd especially like blue FRN scales with VG-10 steel; because I don't like to see fingerprints!

Re: Ok received my caly 3.5. Some issues though

Rust on a new knife would bother me too, but then I can even stand fingerprints on my blades!

Re: Best steels to avoid fingerprints?

I have to ask, why are you so worried about fingerprints? As you use, carry, and sharpen your knives, they're going to pick up all kinds of marks. If it's that big of a deal to you, your best bet might be to pick up a microfiber cloth so you can wipe them down after handling. All you really need to...

Re: Best steels to avoid fingerprints?

Maxamet might be a good option, since it has more of a subdued rather than polished finish. I must have oily skin or something because my PM2 Maxamet shows fingerprints more than most steels. I almost didn't buy it after checking one out at my local dealer. Thanks for that tip on Maxamet, I can scr...

Re: Best steels to avoid fingerprints?

IMO the stone-wash finish on the base model S30V Shaman is awesome, and coincidentally it doesn't really show fingerprints or other minor specs, scuffs or streaks.... At least that's been my experience. 😉 Thanks, S30V hasn't been a problem for me either. Looks like I'm going to have to stay with VG...

Re: Best steels to avoid fingerprints?

I agree with those who have said that finish, not steel, is the biggest contributing factor to visible fingerprints, or lack thereof. Generally.. I have noticed that lc200n does seem like much more of a "fingerprint magnet" than other steels. It also seems to me that fingerprints are more...

Re: Best steels to avoid fingerprints?

Ah. So you're mostly just pulling them out from somewhere, fiddling with them and putting them back? Maxamet might be a good option, since it has more of a subdued rather than polished finish. But, if you're not using it, I'm not sure the price premium would be worth it. I think most of the CPM ste...
