Currently my favorite would be my Mini Manix PE. It is the perfect EDC for me because I favor G10 scales, flat-ground blades, and Tip-up carry, and the Mini Manix grip fits my hand like it was made for me LOL. I also like the Paramilitary. Wish it were tip-up.

Most of my knives are really mine. :o
Well said. It's an "initiation" thing.

I prefer tip up, mostly because that's how the early :spyder: clipits were made and that's what I got used to, but I have found that larger knives, like the Manix, are easier to deploy if carried tip-down; at least for me.

I can't seem to limit it to just one model, just certain features: Spydie-hole, pocket clip, folder, and quality. I guess because I own/have owned various models of Spydercos and have referred to all of them as "Spyderco" or "Spydie". I have had a couple of the FBs too, but only ...

I picked one up yesterday at SMKW with the combo edge. Seems to have Spydie quality; the G-10 handles are smooth and the appearance is great. It has the great out-of-box spyderco sharpness and lock-up is tight. I'm not up-to-par on the 8cr13mov metal, though, but so far it seems good. I have yet to ...

R/F: Manix PE; Ladybug (on keychain).
L/F: Leatherman Wave. It's a little heavy in the pocket, but I prefer the pocket clip over the belt sheath.

During the week at work and evenings, typically my Paramilitary and my ladybug. the lady is on my keychain. On weekends I tend to carry my full size Manix. I also carry a Leatherman Wave almost every day in addition to my spydies.

Good pics, Gerard. I would have expected more of a size difference than what it appears to be. I don't think the weight if the Manix is too bad for EDC, but the size is a little more than most bystanders would be used to seeing, and it does take up a lot of pocket room. After seeing your pictures I ...

Very cool, the inlay looks better in your picture than any other I've seen. Very nice photography. Even the blade shows up with great detail in your picture, Rob. I sure would like to have one of those. I have passed one or two up in the past for other spydies. I may end up regretting that.

Need Pics/comments; Manix vs Mini Manix

Does anyone have pics showing a side-by-side comparison of the Manix to the Mini Manix? I have the Manix and am seriously considering getting the mini Manix but would like to see the difference in size and width. The Manix seems to get bigger everyday. I think :spyder: should make the Manix in a fix...

Hey Yank, That Advent looks much smaller in those pics than it did in person. Remind me Monday, I am going to bring a book that I bought a while back. It goes over some of the common grips. The author uses fixed blades primarily but the grips and most of the techniques can be used with folders as we...

Maybe I should get a Mini Manix for work. ;) I was just kidding in my first post about carrying the Manix to work. I will be sticking to my Native or Paramilitary for EDC at work.

New Manix arrived today

I got a Like NIB Manix PE in a trade with JD Spydo, and it arrived today. Wow! what a knife. This thing is bigger than the Chinook, but it feels a bit lighter. Is the Manix MBC rated? I think it will be my new EDC when I'm not at work, or maybe I'll even rotate it out with my Paramilitary for EDC at...

I found a Craftsman screwdriver that came with eight bits, one was a torx 6, and it has some smaller even. It has a plastic handle that holds the extra bits and the cap can be used for a stubby. All the bits are small, like those that come in jeweler's kits.

I was on an elevator at work a while back, a guy says "what you carrying?" It took me a couple of seconds to figure out what he was referring to, but I whipped out my Paramilitary and showed it to him. Come to find out he was a big knife nut, too, and knows several custom knife makers, and...

I read a story about two years ago where a man was attacked by a mountain lion and killed it with his folding knife. Actually I believe I read about it on this forum. Any one else remember that?
