Re: I want a new knife, but something different
So, I want to buy myself a new Spyderco. Sounds fun, right? There’s a catch though - almost all the usual suspects are off the table. I want something different. Something maybe even odd. I’ll start with the stuff I’ve got: PM2, Manix2, Para 3, Para 3 LW, Native 5 LW, Delica 4 (several), Endura 4 (...

Lum Tanto Folder, Ti frame lock, CE LC200N.
The above treatment on the Large Chinese(PE).
Dyad Jr. with bolsters/jigged bone, in Vanax.
Baby Horn, same as above.
Ikuchi in LC200N.
I could go on forever...

Facts.bearfacedkiller wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 7:50 pmI don’t think it needs jimping. The C54 was designed in the first place to be a large gents knife, not a hard use or utility knife. It should remain a large classy refined knife.
Jimping has it's place. Just, not on the Calypso.

Haven't used this guy in a while. It's amazing how well it carries, considering it's size.

Definitely. I'm ordering two, eventually.
I'll be getting one each, small and large. Both SE.
I have a weakness for Perrin's handle designs.

Re: Could you EDC only a Ladybug or Manbug?
Could you EDC a Manbug, Ladybug, or Jester, only, for a month? A lot of people think it is too small. The blade is about the same length as the much larger Squeak, on these knives. I have done this years past. I decided I need to do it, again. Most times the only thing I need is something handy to ...

It can't come soon enough. https://i.ibb.co/dbvWqDJ/20210721-124854.jpg Man, the micarta Street Beat I ended up getting a while back is immaculate. Collectors grade, never been sheathed - even the box is in pristine shape. Haven't brought myself to use it yet. Seeing yours so well loved makes me wa...

There are a lot of models I want to see given the Salt treatment.
Unfortunately, this one is pretty far down on the list.

We're flying out for a week's vacation carry on bags only so can't pack my Pacific Salt 2, which is usually clipped to my swim trunks for a week and used often of course.....I"d hate to waste money on a cheap walmart knife that would be ruined by the time our vacation was done.... I can't mail...

Re: Knife Joker GITD Jester 20CV!!
I'd go with a salt model for keychain knives. H1 or LC200N would have been my preference. Not really a big deal though. I just like variety so I was glad for something different than VG-10. 20CV is like 90% as corrosion resistant as LC200N but has excellent edge retention, which I think is a better...

Re: Hard Use (borderline abuse) Steel?
A good friend of mine is looking for a Spyderco in a premium steel for use as a working knife. He’s pretty hard on his stuff, but considering how well his S30v Manix is holding up, I reckon he would actually see some benefit from an upgrade. Here’s what he’s cutting almost daily: -sandpaper backing...
