Re: Official Sliverax Discussion Thread

Welcome to the forum! Still have my Sliverax and love the overall design. I think you don’t hear much about it anymore for a few reasons: -Early issues with the weak detent put people off. My example can easily be operated as a gravity knife, which may present legal issues in some areas. Plus no one...

A Spydie with an integral cigar cutter would be a buy for me and I only smoke a few a year.

Re: Is the UKPK FRN discontinued?

The UKPK is the unexpected hero of my collection. I currently own and have gifted away more of them than any other model. Recent pic, but have since added the serrated Salt as well: https://i.ibb.co/MsL0kJ8/1-FE1-D755-EC17-4760-BDA0-30-CFC82-DF460.jpg Can’t wait to see what Spyderco has up their sle...

Need a Pingo reboot in this discussion

Missed this comment the first time around. Was just thinking a Salt Pingo would be something I’d buy. Have an orange one that’s been our pool bag knife for a few years. :)

Re: Urban size discussion

Selfishly, I already have plenty of 2.6” Urbans, so I like the idea of moving it to 2.5 and introducing the Metro. Agree with the current shorter blade profile looking a bit off. Tip too high, shape too “chubby” like the Squeak vs. the leaf UKPK…* Would also still love to see the Metropolitan rolled...

The Right to Bear deals got me for a Delica and a Byrd Hawkbill… Too good to pass up, look forward to having a Delica again.

Re: About that cardboard cutting...

I don’t cut up much cardboard, usually just cut the tape so I can flatten the box and fold itvto put in the bin. Occasionally I will cut some up into strips and then “chips” when I want to add more carbon-rich material to my compost. This can be some good fun-with-knives time. :D (Learned more about...

Re: Left Hand PM2

Wow, I feel like these were plentiful last time I looked not too long ago… couldn’t find any good leads either.

Was there a run on them for button-lock mods? I was previously under the impression that only like me and four other lefties bought these lol.

We have the Cook’s, Chef’s and a serrated Z-cut in our knife block. All nice to have around and used frequently.

I mean, I’ll buy more, but I’ve already picked up a k390 LB, wharnie MB, and the gitd Jester recently. Been a good year for keychain knives imo.

Re: Ladybug slip-it?

Voted Yep. The Bugs have really grown on me. Have a couple of the small ClipiTools as well. Sort of close to what you’re asking for in some ways, but also far off in others… Not sure I neeeed a LB slippie, but I’m interested in the idea. https://i.ibb.co/yyrdNgT/AA5-A583-D-1-BF0-4756-A8-F7-0-C2-EAC9...

Re: Metropolitan?

I’d still love to see the Metro. Will get some more mileage out of this comparison pic: https://i.ibb.co/r4ZyWXx/2020-03-24-10-00-54.jpg The Mertropolitan would presumably use the (hopefully still existing) Spy-DK molds, which would substantially lower the initial cost to bring it into production, h...

Re: UKPK Salt availability ?

You could say I’m a UKPK fan… have the SE Salt version pre-ordered as well.

Digging the black clip and hardware. Could have a lot of fun swapping stuff around, if only we could get a dlc coated blade…

Here's hoping the salt drops soon too!

I think it dropped a couple of weeks ago? At any rate my PE BHQ pre-order shipped today. Nice surprise as I expected they’d hold it until the SE was also in stock.

In.

Was recently reminded by some posts here that I have a Caly 3.5 Super Blue. :bug-white

How this model ever got discontinued is beyond me, as is my failure to grab one in vg10 when they were still around. 🤦‍♂️

Re: Non-Stainless Blade Models From Spyderco

Missed all the 52100 releases mostly because I hoped a UKPK was coming. Been half-heartedly looking for a 52100 Manix, but they seem scare these days and go fast when they go up for reasonable prices.

Bentoboxshop still has the 52100 Military sprint, but it’s not cheap.

Re: Knives you wanted to dislike but ended up loving

-Other honorable mentions from bargain hunting include the Pingo... There was a 2015 graphic Elmax Pingo in a B&M store near me for nearly 2 years, when they were clearing it out they marked it down to $120. I regret not picking it up. I would love a real Voxnaes someday. It never worked in a r...
