Re: Techo name origin?
Good question. Better yet, I see the Mouse has an orange back spacer but otherwise the Techno is a great production version of the original custom. As to your question we'll just have to wait for Sal to respond.

Re: Knifecenter Spyderco Endura 4 Foliage Green (Damascus)
Perhaps you're just not happy with this Damascus knife. Personally I find the modern green scales inconsistent with the ancient looking Damascus blade. I find my orange jigged bone Damascus the most beautiful knife in my Spyderco collection.URL=http://s183.photobucket.com/user/bullhead3989/media/IMG...

Not a hunter just a shooter. I do shoot or trap beavers when they start damning up our culverts. Nasty rodents!

Re: Southard
Sorry about your hand Dubbya, but if you like the Southard's flipping action you might also like the Magnitude. That has a great blade shape and it really flips great. I have both knives and think the Magnitude might be even more fun to flip. But what do I know?

Why does Techno sport blue?
Marcin Slysz's Mouse sports a nice orange bolster and seeing the techno is Spyderco's version anyone care to opine why they chose blue instead. I for one am still trying to figure out why Spyderco chose brown as a back spacer for the Magnitude. Ugh!

Re: Southard help please.
Thanks for your reply Dutch. I did that and was advised they only sell clips and screws but no scales.DutchBlades wrote:Welcome to the forum Carl!
You can contact the Spyderco customer service just like you would with a set of screws or a replacement pocket clip. I'm sure they'll help you out!

Southard help please.
Where can I get an original brown scale for the Southard? I've done various searches and can only find custom scales. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Magnitude: "Red Headed Stepchild"?
I agree, brown and black is an interesting color combination. My guess is that perhaps Peter and Spyderco were trying to differentiate the Magnitude from the Rubicon by offering the Magnitude in a different color scheme. Good point, yet couldn't that differentiation been accomplished by the scales ...

Re: Magnitude: "Red Headed Stepchild"?
Gee guys I'm glad you feel the same. It's not that the Magnitude isn't a great knife, it is. It just seems like it doesn't quite fit in the Carey family line up.

Magnitude: "Red Headed Stepchild"?
So I got the other three Spyderco/Peter Carey collaborations. http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x46/bullhead3989/001_4.jpg What kept me on the fence about the 4th was that the Magnitude has muted brown accents rather than the other's bright orange. Finally after reading how wonderful it flipped and...
