Why do you carry?

Hi guys, Being that I'm new to the forum and haven't seen the question posted, I thought I would ask why you carry a knife? I have been carrying a knife daily for about 15 years. It stems from a lecture I was given by a Petty Officer back in the Navy. Being that I was a boatswain, the PO stated, in ...

I think I would go for the Rookie G-10 . Lots of blade relative to overall size and very slim and comfortable in pocket/my hand.

Got My Mariner!

Hi guys . I just got my mail today and with it was an envelope from the USPS. To my pleasant surprise, my new Mariner PE came in. I ordered from an Ebay seller, Sunblades, and got it from Florida to New Brunswick , Canada in a week! I have waited up to six weeks, so this was quick, indeed. Further t...

I'm an awful long way from a collection yet, but they will all most likely be users that will eventually be displayed somehow. I do have quite an interest in sheepsfoot blades and rigging knives, so it might be focussed on knives that loosely fit in those catergories. If that were the case, I might ...

I'm in New Brunswick, Canada and I sure hope the knives are going to be in the Canadian stores as well. Could this be confirmed for the Canadian market?

SS Mariner question

Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone knows when the Mariner(stainless) was discontinued .The one I am looking at is PE and looks to be in good shape. Looks like it would make a good rigging knife. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks.

Seeing a mullet right out of the 80's today! I'm sorry , but they rock! Thinking about going to my first fire. Knocking off my first kayak roll.Doing something when I know I won't/can't be the best and it's OK. Finding out my son wants to wear his T-shirt over a long sleeve just like his Dad :) Thin...

Removing inlay from Spur?

Is it possible to have the inlay removed from the Spur? I like the knife , but really don't care for the inlay on just one side. On that knife, or any knife similar, I would rather the inlay be on both sides or neither side. Does anyone know if it could be ordered(custome perhaps) in that manner? Pe...

I've had knives from Grohman, Cold Steel, Schrade, Gerber , SAK, Wenger , Myerco, William Henry, and a couple others, but I got rid of most save a CRKT m16 CF(one of my EDC) a Buck 110 and a Wenger. The rest are Spydies. Interestingly, my CRKT is probably my favourite single knife in my bunch, event...

You are absolutely right. The soldiers are the heroes. Regardless of what people think of the policies and politics, it's the soldiers who "cash the cheques their governments write."It would be nice to think there was some simple peaceful solution to this, but there isn't and there probabl...

Collateral is probably one of the movies I most enjoyed recently. Want to see Kung Fu Hussle. If you are into climbing, Touching The Void was pretty good.

Thanks guys. It seems like most of you are more "enthusiasts" than "collectors". I mean, most of you are getting knives to use or appreciate as opposed to just "finishing the collection", so to speak. For example, I detect somewhat of a difference than a collector of ba...

Rough-textured CF , then G10. Something metal next. I'm not big on FRN, but I'll still buy it. I know it is very durable, but it still seems "cheap".

Carbon CRKT M-16-00 , Kiwi and Leatherman Micra. At work tonight , I leave the Micra and take a Leatherman Pulse. There is a Snap-It on my turnout gear with some EMT shears as well. More often than not , I carry just one knife and the Leatherman.

EDC in collections?

HI guys. I was wondering if the members here tend to keep their EDCs out of their collections or do they feel it's OK to have "users" as part of their knife collections?Any thoughts would be appreciated as I'm new to this. I've had plenty of knives in the past , but normally got rid of wha...
