Re: Problem with Maxamet PM2 from the new run
That's nice to hear! To me, the strangest thing about the whole episode was that there ever existed a piece of steel that actually would bend under the pressure a human hand could exert. Carbon, tool, stainless, exotic...I would never have thought any ferrous alloy would yield to that little force....

Re: Problem with Maxamet PM2 from the new run
Awesome! Funny there was no communication though, lol. Right!? I just sent my knife to them and magically a new one appeared in the mail some 6 weeks later. I was directly emailing Sal and also sent my knife addressed directly to him vs the warranty department so I'm thinking maybe I just skipped p...

Re: Problem with Maxamet PM2 from the new run
Personally, I think you should have gotten a new replacement knife and need to contact spyderco so we all can get up-to-date. Cheers! Spyderco got back to me, I made a post and I'll probably throw it in my original post for anyone who comes across in the future. That being said in my opinion I'd go...

Re: Problem with Maxamet PM2 from the new run
Alright guys got a mystery package in the mail unexpectedly today and it was a replacement Maxamet PM2! Spyderco sent me a beautiful copy... probably the best action on a knife I've ever had and everything else about it is perfection. Yes it took a little bit and I was somewhat in the dark through t...

Re: Shaman Questions
glad you're enjoying it! As you break it in, it's only going to get more satisfying to use. My s30v Shaman has seen a lot of pocket time and it's only gotten better. Faster deployment, effortless cutting and returning to the pocket. I use it all day in the garden and it's quicker than a pair of she...

Re: Shaman Questions
You are right, that is a point I certainly was not fair to the compression lock (and was not in many comments I made already tbh)! Sure you can close it almost like backlock if you want (so not just in that pinch grip way many people seem to do it). Two things are a bit worse though if you do so: 1...

Re: Any well worn knives?
https://i.imgur.com/3xlaAUf.jpg Is this really a huge chip that you then sharpened (a bit like a serration) in the middle of the edge? Can't quite determine it on my phone... It’s actually my dads knife. He accidentally it a live 110v wire. So I sharpened the burn into a serration and now he uses i...

Re: Spyderco Sticker Woes
I've got stickers when I asked for some replacement screws without asking but I'm sure if you kindly asked for some Spyderco stickers to be thrown in they'd gladly do it! I mean at the end of the day its pretty much free advertisement right? Unless you're Benchmade... asked them for stickers 3 times...

Re: Shaman Questions
https://i.imgur.com/b6pQHmu.jpg Got the Shaman a few days ago and have been giving it some use since to get a feel... and I can say its definitely a badass tool first and foremost. I always found the Native to be a little tank of a knife because it's fairly indestructible for what it is but the Sha...

Re: Shaman Questions
I've been meaning to answer this for some time because I am a huge fan of the Shaman. I have my CF/S90V version right here by my side for reference as I answer these questions. The Shaman is in my top 3 Spyderco knives of all time alongside the PM2, Manix 2, and Military. This is just a superb knif...

Re: Shaman Questions
Man, you´re right, it´s really hard for me NOT to buy a Shaman... ;) (and I most likely will eventully anyway, and "just" the G10 /S 30V version, which is perfectly fine for me..). It´s just: I can´t and don´t want to have TOO many folders (and except one BM Minigrip all my quality folder...

Re: Shaman Questions
Quick update because I've been too busy to sit down and give a proper reply on here. The Shaman I ordered came a day early so I've got it in my hands now BUT apparently I didnt get lucky because the copy I got has a pretty uneven grind and the way it was ground is already starting a lot of recurve n...

Re: Native Designer
I believe the designer was Sal, hes also designed a ton of knives he doesn't give himself credit for. Think it comes down to him being an amazingly humble man. Plus Eric and Sal signing blades seems to be a little more recent and the native is an old design.

Re: Shaman Questions
Generally speaking I have to say again: The Shaman is a knife I really should not like in theory / just by it features: Rather heavy; large choil taking away edge length; thick blade; compression lock, especially in a "real, hard use"-knife. BUT: I DO like it a lot, and absolutely want to...

Oooh you got the S90V CF one? Good choice man. Good choice. I just like to stare at mine. So nice. https://i.ibb.co/Tq93896/20190726-13.jpg Totally! The way the CF hits the light with the contouring and flats looks soooooo nice... luckily blades Canada has a few left in stock. Figured I'd get the f...
