A grey FFG Delica4 and a leatherman squirt ps4 on the keychain. I like other models as well and buy them to get the fix, but usually end up selling them. The D4 does everything I need a knife to.

JNewell is right. Specs are something that someone typed up on a webpage form and are not legally binding. They've been entered incorrectly before. If it's a question of law, then the length would actually be whatever method the law enforcement body decides to use to measure it, unfortunately.

If it were me I'd just live with it. The smoothness of how a blade opens and closes has nothing to do with the cutting ability of the tool. My D4 FFg isn't very smooth but it was worse when i got it so I believe it's smoothed out a little.

I think it's the shape of the blade that gives some the visual 'feeling' like it's too short. For instance, the shape of the FFG Endura blade makes me 'feel' like I'm holding a really big knife, when it's only 1" longer than my Delica.

Between the para2 and mil that you listes I would prefer the para2 b/c I like the compression lock over a liner. Kudos to you if you can keep to your one knife for life plan!! I find as I get older I have become more realistic about my knife use and monetary expenditures. Been carrying an FFG D4 for...

but I think that with the Stretch it is a long established model and a much loved design (not by all I know) and to come out with a new blade shape just to make it more widely accepted is kind of...lame. Wait... isn't that what you were just saying was OK to do to the delica/endura by adding a choil?

Though I've never doubted the strength of my FFG Delica it's neat to see how you pushed it. It kind of makes you think though. All of those SAKs, Cases and Old Timers that working men carried for years had thinner blades than an FFG Delica. But with the number of thick blades on the market today whe...

I've had a frame lock and a compression lock open when I didn't intend them to. Since they typically have even more blade retention than a liner lock, yes liner locks make me nervous.

I don't know, I think that the majority of knife enthusiasts are also "buying" enthusiasts just like any other hobby. It's about the knife, but it's also about buying "something".

IMO, the back lock is slow and tight. It takes unnecessary force to flick it open compared to a compression, liner, axis, all? other locks. It takes unnecessary force to close. I have found that a lockback can be thumbed or spydie dropped open in less than a second and closed in less than 2 seconds...

I strongly prefer FRN as Spyderco uses it on the Delica/Endura4 family. I feel it has better grip than G10 but yet doesn't tear up your pockets b/c of the bug medallion they have right under the clip. So you have the functionality without the additional cost of G10. I love my Native5 but am anxiousl...
