Hey, it's black friday... I've already braved a big box retailer, eaten leftover turkey, it's too windy to go to the range, and it still seems too early to start drinking... the only diversion left for the day is arguing with people I'll never meet on subjects nobody cares about :p . Kidding of cour...

I read all your posts and all of them made sense to me ;) Your first post summed it up quite well, unless you decided to be picky, I suppose :spyder: See... I thought I was pretty clear. But, I have nothing but time on my hands until enough turkey digests for me to become mobile again. So, I'll ded...

no you're right jordan, comparing a military to a buck 110, 2 completely different knives in every way is exactly the same as comparing 2 ti framelocks with the same blade steel, one of which was designed as a tribute to the other you're completely right See... thing is, that wasn't what I was doin...

military's a liner lock didn't read the rest I am aware of that... hence the request to sub (read: replace) a more compatible model into the... actually, you've probably already stopped reading again and I think I clarified as much as possible in the portion of my post that wasn't worth your time. ...

at least he's comparing 2 ti framelocks which are comparable in design and materials buck 110 and spyderco military not so much Ok, then pick a spyderco backlock with a 3-4 inch blade and sub that in for the millie in my glib little metaphor :p . You'll have a tough time finding one priced less tha...

I just took the noisemaker on mine out... loved the design, was annoyed by the clickity clacker :p . But, before I did that, I flipped it pretty heavily for a few weeks and it stayed intact. Quite a few people reported different experiences though. I would highly suggest the model though... carraca ...

Well, lemme ask you this... I own a Buck 110. Is it really worth it to spend 2-3 times more on a military or is it just the bug on the blade that inflates the price :p .

Eye of the beholder bud, no other real answer.

That's all well and good for YOU....so what are people who can't carry a gun for whatever reason supposed to do? Not every state allows it's "subjects" to carry a firearm and some will prosecute for using a firearm in self defense. Not intending this to be political, but I get sick of see...

Heya! First off, you are doing a nice thing. I'm a soldier with the 1st Armored myself... and I can tell you that the support of family and loved ones isn't just what makes the job worth doing, it's what makes it possible to do it. Secondly, you are already on the right track with the military and p...

As it happens, I've played with an AR-15 variant or two in my time :p . I know it's been said... but a custom build is your best bet. If price were not an issue for me, I'd get Les Baer to build me an AR. I wouldn't suggest a home build unless you know someone who already knows their stuff or you ar...

I used to be a pretty good shot, won some turkey shoots. Pretty good with the S&W 38 revolver. My uncle was very strict about gun safety and my cousin and I always followed his rules. My cousin kept hunting after I stopped, years ago. He sleeps with a semi-automatic under his pillow. He showed ...

A word about gun shows. Just my opinion. 1) Know your pricing cold before hand. Make a list of pricing both from local shop and from a reputable online dealer for any gun you even think you might want. If you're in N. Va (my fam. mostly lives in VA) there is a well reviewed gunshop in Manassas call...

I would like to call that guys bluff, as I have seen 7.62 rounds zip through steel plate, and multiple cinderblock walls. . having destroyed one with a hammer, I can tell you there is nothing inside that should slow any rifle bullet down. An Ak is my chosen wrecking ball when I want to utterly dest...

Only way I've ever made converts is through gifting. Lending my knives out never does the trick... just makes people look at me as a mobile knife dispenser :p . Plus, runs the risk of having a good blade grow legs. A few strategic purchases of byrds and the cheaper spydercos have saved me a lot of &...

I've never fired a P7. Frankly, I don't think I've ever even seen one in real life. And yet, I know it was a pretty decent pistol. My reasoning? They manufactured it for like 3 decades. I am gonna go out on a limb and assume H&K is a for-profit institution, and that such an organization would no...
