Re: Models We Absolutely NEED in Spyderedge
...but to do our part we need to buy them when they make them available. Yes this is a good point... It is useless to ask and plead for new SE models when we do not buy them new from dealers. If we only buy discontinued SE models from the secondary market, the current production SE sales figures wi...

I am a bit baffled that the SE Military was discontinued.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
I would argue that this is a serrated blade done correctly: Large FFG blade, with 80% SE and a 20% PE tip.

Re: Models We Absolutely NEED in Spyderedge
A LC200N SE Military, with FRN or G10 or textured Ti, would certainly get my attention.
But I'm not picky, a LC200N SE Manix LW will also be ok. :p

Re: HAP40 Delica and Endura
If you do not like the clads, but want something similar to HAP40, you can look at the M4 GB1 or GB2, M4 PM2 etc... It's a good way to rationalize spending more: "But Honey, the $70 HAP40's scratch so easily, I will have to get the $240 M4 PM2... Yes I know thats too much, but then I'll have to...

Re: GB2 Price Drop
... How big will the weight difference be? According to the catalog the GB2 will be 4.4 oz (125g), vs the standard G10 PM2 at 3.9 oz (111g). G10 Military is 4.5 oz (128g). As long as the handle thickness is similar to a PM2 or Military, I do not think you will notice the weight difference much in d...

I never go clipless, except for a Victorinox alox Minichamp in the coin pocket these days.

Re: GB2 Price Drop
That's good news... A GB2 at $140 would be very hard to ignore. This price makes it hard to justify the KW M4 PM2 at $240. Same sized knife, very much the same materials, $100 more... I was with you until I remembered that the GB2 is a production knife but the PM2 is a dealer exclusive... That is t...

Yes, pretty please, with sugar on top (and Cruwear underneath :))akaAK wrote:I have been waiting for a SE Para since the Para 2 came out. 3/4 inch of plain at the tip and I would be a very happy new knife buyer.

Re: HAP40 Delica and Endura
My philosophy is, if you can't beat them, join them (the scratches)... :) After I sharpened this SB Stretch flat on the FFG, the whole blade was uniformly scratched. Now, after 6+ months of regular use, it still looks scratched. So the unintended consequence was that the blade became scratch resista...

Re: Rubicon lock rock?
Are all the screws tightened properly? I once had lock rock on a Military, but then discovered the pivot screw was a little bit loose. It disappeared when I tightened everything up.

Re: Southard Positron (Ion) Status Check
One thing that worries me is the size of the handle. I have large hands and I don't think I'll be able to get a full grip on it. The flipper might get in the way. Same here... According to the specs this knife has a similar sized handle as the Native 5. I can only get a full grip on the Native if I...

I agree Ted. All my paras have free swinging blades for easy one hand open and close. The tiny bit of side to side play is so minor it's really a non-issue IMO.

Re: A day in the life of my Pacific Salt
Thanks guys. Sometimes I am hesitant about posting stuff like this. I know it is kind of "fluff" compared to discussions about edge angles and grinds and carbide content. The truth is though its days and moments like these that make me a knife lover. This hobby has so many different facet...
