the endura has a more obtuse blade geometry than a lot of other knives we use. I'm not sure what materials you are cutting, but perhaps the drag from the blade shape is getting you different results than you would have with a thinner blade. just a thought

It's a darn good thing most of my cutting tasks don't involve whacking the blunt side of my knife into the material I want to cut. Silly me, I always thought the sharpened side was the one you're supposed to use.

what i've done in the past- 1. buy a cheapie 2. dull the blade so it won't kill you (you can always resharpen) 3. when you drop it and a cheap pin breaks, replace it with a nail. nails are tougher and they will slowly wear out the soft handles but probably not the blade. That's my experience. your ...

I can understand people getting upset with other companies, but when you've made as many innovations in the knife world as Spyderco has, it's darn near impossible not to look to them for ideas. I may be wrong , but I believe Sal was the first to make 1) clipped pocket knife 2) one hand opening pocke...

I've never done it before, but I thought you were supposed to tape the blade prior to forming your kydex sheath.

fully serrated spyderco = that nylon never stood a chance. I prefer pe for my EDC, but when I have some fibrous stuff to cut, the spyderedge never lets me down.

I've found the steel used in spydercos less expensive knives (8Cr13MoV)to be sufficient. My tenacious is probably the sharpest knife I own. My girlfriend brought her Byrd Meadowlark camping last summer. My friends were all amazed at the see-through slices of tomato that were possible with a small po...

g-10 poliwog

In the issue of Blade magazine I just received, they show the g-10 poliwog in the "What's new" section. Is this available yet?

copying a design ( very poorly at that) is one thing, but to put another company's name on it? you'd think they'd want to steal a little credit (I use that term loosely) for themselves. Obviously we can all spot the garbage, but it's frightening to think how many less knife-educated folks are buying...

I use my mini-manix daily. I do snow removal this time of year and about once a week we have to fill salt boxes that are left at various locations to keep the commercial walkways clear of ice. Yesterday I opened at least 3 dozen large bags of rock salt (not carefully , just jabbing into the coarse m...

since you've already got 50 spydies, you might already have one, but I think the military is pretty close size-wise to the 710. I may be wrong ( maybe it's the slim shape) but I think the police3 is a little longer than the military. either way, you really can't go wrong. BTW don't tell anyone :p , ...
