I showed up around 9:30 and I think we were probably in the doors and shopping by 11:30 and purchasing by 1:00. They did trivia while we were in line and I won a bug, forum calendar and delica model.

Re: Cutting boards
For those of you wanting a wood cutting board, I really recommend checking out the Epicurean boards. They're not wood, but have a very similar feel and they're NSF approved.

I recently made a Canadian Belt Knife, 1084 steel, stock removal. https://i.imgur.com/zZiOMAW.jpg And I've been trying to learn how to make mokume gane, here's a few pieces worth showing. https://imgur.com/ZW3D5nC http://i.imgur.com/ZW3D5nC.jpg That's really beautiful Shane! Re: Cutting boards
Epicurean boards are now the standard in our kitchen and camper van. Hygienic and don’t dull edges unduly. This right here! The Epicurean boards are made of richlite, a paper-based fiber, which is the same material they use to make skateboard ramps. I find them to by very thin and durable, but they...

Re: Choose my knife (or my fate) for 4 days!
I voted for the SE Pacific Salt only because I'm curious how it would serve in the woods and what your experience would be like. The Military is the better choice though in my opinion.

Re: In praise of Mr. Ed Schempp
When I met Ed last year at the factory seconds sale it was later in the afternoon and the sale was slowing down. Ed was in the main entrance cleaning up chairs and I think that says a lot about him. We got to chat for a few minutes, I told him how my dad EDCs a Schempp Bowie, he told me his thoughts...

Looks like GP Knives has the best deal on Pacific Salts at $71.95, though I'm hoping to find them a little cheaper.

Re: Victorinox photo and discussion thread!
I've been wanting a Swiss Bianco Bushcrafter for a few years now. Maybe I'll have to take a play out of Spydergirl88's playbook and find a farmer to trim down, seriously impressive work! A such a clean workbench too. What size pins on the 93mm? I've seen people go to screw construction on the alox m...

Re: What Are You Driving / Have Driven?
My daily driver is a pretty mundane 2015 Nissan Leaf. I enjoy the smooth power delivery that the electric motor offers and not having a transmission is novel. For fun I have a 1995 Subaru Legacy that I RallyCross with the local SCCA group. The car is all stock, I've focused on reliability since I ha...

Re: Saber Grinds Revisited: Love, Hate, Indifference?
I like to carry a pocket knife, my grandpop carried one, my dad carries one and as is tradition, I also carry one. Frankly though, I hardly ever use it, but the one thing I consistently use my knife for is breaking down cardboard. I have a saber ground Endura 4 in spyder edge and also a ffg Endura 4...

Re: Largest Spyderco you're comfortable with?
What I'm comfortable carrying and what I'm legally allowed to carry are two different things. I really like the Endura and Military and I suspect that I'd also enjoy a Police 4. Like most have said in this thread weight is more of a concern that size to me. Due to Colorado laws I'm usually carrying ...

Re: Reprofiling M390 using Sharpmaker CBN rods
I actually did this to give me a much wider range of grits for touching up harder steels. For reprofiling I'd still prefer using my Hapstone but I may give it a go with this one of these days. I tried using the SM with the CBN rods a couple times and it was kind of a pain. I imagine this might be t...

I need a Dragonfly problem, I regret not purchasing the HAP40 and the V-Toku2 models. My collection includes a orange handled VG-10 version and a PE H1 model.

So when do the cut tests begin? Toothy or polished edge? How extreme of an angle can you go with this steel? I'm excited for people to start playing!
