patina is essentially just mild corrosion. just about anything mildly acidic is good for getting that light patina color. there are many techniques and acids used, there's no real right way to do it. you could stick it in a potato over night, cut up a bunch of fruit and let it sit for fifteen minute...

I don't see how it takes away from those who like their sprint models. does it change what you have? not at all. I can only imagine it taking away from sprint flippers, but they can all rot anyways IMO. and I can sort of understand it affecting people with hard core collections, but it's once again ...

they are not rust proof just rust resistant be sure to rince with fresh water they are rust proof unless you are in an environment which would melt your lungs and boil your blood. obviously you should rinse anyways, but that's because the salt and grime can grit it up, or become difficult to clean....
