Re: Will there be a DLC Military with coated liners?

If I remember back to the post from MJ I think it was, I believe he alluded to all future comp and liner locks getting the coated liner treatment on the DLC variations. Hopefully this is the case. It would be cool to see this happen prior to the St. Nicks DLC 4V Military release (whenever that may b...

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

I am seeing a lot of people say that is needs to be competitive on price. I don't see this as something Spyderco is going to churn out millions of and try to put it next to Milwaukees and Stanelys at Home Depot. This would likely be something sold to existing Spyderco customers or other high end kni...

Re: High Performance Delica Excitement

We always get excited about the new steel even when it’s difference in performance is marginal. We are now being offered geometry that will actually show a significant increase in performance. I hope there is similar excitement about this. A $12 Opinel will out cut every Spydie that I own but the e...

Re: Thoughts / Opinions - Endura-based models; steels, shapes, and whatnot

The Endura/Pac Salt is my 2nd most favorite platform behind the Endela, so I have some experience here. I personally prefer the heftier feel of the Endura vs. the linerless Pacific Salt 99% of the time. My Pacific Salts don't have blade play necessarily, but the Endura does feel more solid with thos...

Re: Future Para 3 LW Sprints & Exclusives?

When the Para 3 LW came out there was a ton of hype still around the G10 Para 3, so the LW version rode that wave. I remember someone saying that they talked to Eric at one of the shows and Eric said there were already 20+ exclusives commissioned on the Para 3 LW. I think we have seen like 2 or 3 so...

Re: Spyderco UTILITY Knife...

This is a topic I think about quite a bit as I still use utility knives to break down cardboard despite always having a Spyderco in my pocket. A good blade will just sail through cardboard. I use the Stanley Carbide blades and they feel like I am slicing carboard with a laser and they stay sharp for...

Re: Seki black blade K390 run?

I'd love to see it. I am in the midst of scaling my collection down massively to fund a new hobby, but I would 100% buy an Endela and Endura the second they came out in this combo.

Re: Non LW Seki City - where's the love?

The FRN is so good on the Seki models that I don't really have a desire for G10. And I don't like Ti or CF or Pakkawood. BUT, if Seki is able to do a well-executed OD Green Micarta then I would be all for Cru-carta in all of the popular Seki models. I'd still likely carry my FRN versions 99% of the ...

Re: A Larger Scale Dodo Model? PLEASE!!!

I'm still holding out hope for a Dodo-fly. An FRN Dodo 2 LW would also be something I'd be interested in. Not sure I would want a larger version. I prefer smaller for these blades. I'd be all over a Cricket-fly or an updated FRN Cricket 2 LW with wire clip and bi-directional FRN on both scale sides....

Re: Stretch in a steel I never heard of v-toku2

Or skip the folder and get an LT Wright Ranch Hand. :D Folder wise, the Cruwear Straight Spine Stretch XL that Sal has mentioned being in the plans seems like a solid pick, but that could be months/year away. For current models its hard to beat the K390 Endura, or wait a few months for the K390 Stra...

Re: Long Blade Folder Guys ... what you cutting?????

I didn't read through all of the responses, but one of the main reasons I like a longer blade is cutting through bags because it goes through both sides. Dog food bags, mulch bags, chip bags, etc. I like the Endura in these cases. Otherwise, I find the Endela the best blend of compactness and blade ...

Missed opportunity to go cruwear!

Cru-carta PM2 is production, which I would take over a G10 Cruwear anyday (which I also have...the Purple Cruwear PM2). But I agree Cruwear needs to be a production steel across the board!

Re: I'm having an issue with US made Spydies

Now, if only I could find smaller impact rated torx bits for mine(my kit at work only goes down to t30). Good luck! -Chad You shouldn't really need impact rated Torx bits for knives, even if using a hand impact or (gasp) battery impact. Impact bits are more for maximum torque applications like driv...

Re: I'm having an issue with US made Spydies

What kind of bits are you using? That looks like a Security Torx bit (hole in the middle), which will be weaker due to the hole. I'd recommend either PB Swiss, Wera, or Wiha bits in the standard Torx pattern. I've also recommended this bitholder from PB Swiss a few times, but this thing is seriously...

Re: FRN Jester Sprint Input Needed

They really need to add the Jester back into the lineup. A Toxic Green LC200N Salt version would sell well I would think. I don't have access to all my old catalog files. Was the Jester ever sold at the same time as the Ladybug or Manbug? Maybe they're hesitant to add it back to the line up because...
