Blue FRN UKPK?

I’m about to give my son an FRN UKPK. Blue is his favorite color—I know it’s been a few years but does anyone know of anywhere that might still have the blue frn? Model doesn’t matter, I’ll swap the scales. Just need the blue scales. I’m referring to the lighter blue of the old ones, not the deep da...

Re: Show your mods!

My favorite EDC. It started life as a black FRN UKPK. First I swapped out the FRN for Cuscadi smooth jade/natural g10 handles. Just today I performed my first RIT dye job with DyeMore Peacock Green:

Re: The Species ( or type) Of Spyder That Hooked You?

My first Spyderco knives, back in 1999 or 2000 were the FRN ATS-55 Dragonfly and Cricket. I quickly graduated to the FRN Calypso Jr. I’ve since visited a few other “families” like the Natives, Military/Paramilitary/Para3, and Manix. But I always seem to come back to the Calypso/UKPK families. I real...

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..

FRN UKPK. Previously modded with smooth natural g10 “jade” scales from Cuscadi. Dyed today in RIT DyeMore Peacock Green for 10 minutes. I may do another round and go slightly darker.

Re: FRN UKPK with Cuscadi scales (Mod complete!)

I decided natural g10 wasn’t quite to my liking, so I got some green RIT dye. I followed the instructions on the bladhehq video. It took 10 minutes to get the color pictured. I may go another round and darken it a bit more but for now, I'm very happy with it! https://i.ibb.co/wW7g2qD/49956-E57-1-C38...

Re: FRN UKPK with Cuscadi scales (Mod complete!)

love my cuscadi UKPK scales. Remember to use the washers - makes the blade smoother and reduces play.I think they recommend double washers on each side. Interesting thing too - did you ask for a solid backspacer? I have a carbon disk that acts like a spacer between the scales at the clip. Yep, I us...

Re: FRN UKPK with Cuscadi scales clip screw help

The fine folks at Cuscadi recommended heating the screws and loosening whatever loctite was in there. Success!

Re: FRN UKPK with Cuscadi scales clip screw help

I take it you can’t separate the screw from its backing? Can you push the screw head so the backing pops out of the FRN? It’s more trying to get the new scales secured. I can’t get the torx side to tighten against the cap side in the new scale, because the hole in the custom scale doesn’t have the ...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

SPY-DK. Finally got one after having the rest of the family (UKPK, Urban, Squeak).

Still hunting for a black g10 UKPK. Maybe someday they’ll do a sprint run.

Re: Smock Anticipation

Has anyone left-handed gotten or handled the Smock yet? My concern is that it looks like one could accidentally release the lock when gripping it left-handed. I’m not predominately left handed, but I can do some things left handed well. My grip either doesn’t even land on the button, or rests again...

I just spoke with someone at the SFO, and she told me that 1,200 pieces sold in less than 24 hours.
WOW. That’s seems very impressive.
