I received my Chaparral from SpydercoVT.com today! I can't get over just how perfect this knife is! It has none of grittiness mentioned in a few other posts - its action is smooth and consistent. I love the texture of the CF scales on this knife. (As an aside, I also received a CF Balance today, whi...

I carry my Stretch CE when I'm wearing lightweight shorts to keep the pocket weight to a minimum. Otherwise, I'm carrying a PE and CE.

Great pics smikesmith3!

Could you please tell us how smooth is the opening/closing of the Chaparral? I've had an issue with several Spyderco backlocks where the locking bar does not contact the blade evenly through the entire opening motion, which leads to an inconsistent feeling.

Thanks!

I recently got the Dragonfly G10 and have found myself carrying, and more importantly, using it a lot! Its small size belies its cutting power! It can slice through the heaviest cardboard without effort or issue. The Dragonfly is also very office-friendly and it didn't scare anyone when opening gift...

Iwolf81's knife sounds about perfect to me for a bushing knife. I bet it glides open. If the bushing pivot was tighter it would bog down and be not as smooth and if it was looser it would have play when open. You aren't going to get Chris Reeve precision at these prices so some are gonna be a bit l...

The blade on my gray Para 2 sprint rattled a tiny bit when opened halfway. I sent it back because none of my other Spydies do this. Note that this P2 was rock solid with no blade play in any direction when locked open.

The D2 Para was my first 'afi' Spyderco knife, and it was the smoothest functioning one I ever had, up until I got the Zulu. This is a fantastic price for a great knife! I've got about an hour to decide if I'll get one as a pre-replacement.

Did you see the story a couple months back where two big ebay sellers got their pricing programs locked into a loop that topped out at almost 24 million dollars for a book? http://www.michaeleisen.org/blog/?p=358 Yes, I was thinking about this story when I wrote about Amazon's auto-prices rising ri...

Excellent and enticing review Brian!

Give the number, frequency and severity of the Spydie-bites being reported on this forum, I'm sure the Junior could be useful to a few of us less-than-junior folks, with myself included.

I seriously doubt the G-10 Dragonfly is being dropped. An alternate, and IMHO more likely theory given that Amazon prices things it sells to be reasonably competitive with lowest price of its affiliates, would be that a new shipment landed recently and the deep discounters, who generally sell out f...

Call me cheap but $70 for a Dfly, G10 or not, is still a bit steep. I paid $80 for a Manix 2 and $50 for a ZDP Delica. I'm sure a better deal is still out there. Yeah, I really didn't want to spend $70 on a Dragonfly either, but that's been the best price (including shipping) I've seen in almost a ...

I don't know about the D'Fly G-10 being discontinued, but Amazon's price for an item is normally adjusted automatically when other online sites adjust their prices. Sometimes these sites get into an automated adjustment battle and the price could drop significantly or rise ridiculously.

Spydie prices dropping on Amazon

I've been monitoring the Dragonfly G10 on Amazon for a while. The price for the it dropped to $70 yesterday, so I finally pulled the trigger on it. However, today it is now $68, and looking around, the Rock Lobster is $158 and the P'Kal is $131. If you have Amazon Prime or Mom, there is free two-day...

I wouldn't call the lock 'sticky' but rather 'tight'. :)

I received mine last night and observed the same issue. However, a small drop of CLP on the locking surface and repeatedly opening and closing the knife seems to help a bit.

False alarm. :(

I just got an email from them stating that the item is out of stock and that I'm in queue if any more arrive.
