I just spoke with W&R and I'm now on the list for a Fluted Titanium Military; however, it won't be available for at least a month. Maybe it will come as a surprise holiday present.

@jossta - Your Yojimbo 2 plus Native 5 suggestion became my Plan B.

Got a big Spyderco credit - now what to get with it?

I received a full credit from Spyderco Warranty and Repair for a ZDP-189 Mule and a Military Ti/M4. :) Unfortunately, both knives had manufacturing defects that couldn't be repaired. :( So, I'm now thinking of getting a Titanium Military, preferably fluted, if available. Are there any other 'unique'...

Thanks... :)

How about displaying these blades in a creative manner for a photo worthy of the 2013 Spyderco Calendar. No one else will have anything quite like it.

"Barkeeper's Friend" and a relatively fresh blue Scotchbrite pad. (I'm not sure if the green pads are too rough.)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for putting this knife "on deck" for me! I've been look to feed my Taichung CF appetite and your post made me very hungry to the Gayle Bradley. I'll be sure to order Tuf-Glide with it as well. Now to sell off a few dusty Spydies...

I don't criticize my wife when she buys a new handbag, and she doesn't say anything when knife-size box arrives. :)

For me, Spyderco knives are a tool, hobby and community that I can carry in my pocket every day. In terms of past hobbies, it has the least amount of zeros in its costs (my kids are responsible for that. :) ) In general, I don't purchase something that I can't afford, and I don't criticize my wife w...

Hi Lance, First, welcome to the neighborhood! You've done your research well. Both the Chaparral and Sage I are great steps up. I recently got both myself. Given that you already have a Dragonfly, which is only slightly smaller than the Chaparral, I would suggest the Sage I as your next step. It's a...

For me, Spyderco knives are not just tools, but are more importantly a hobby and a community that I can bring with me at all times (except on an airplane or to a government location.) I interpreted this poll to be about quality, and I offered my opinion as an admittedly anal-retentive engineer. Whil...

As much as Golden is, well golden, my recent Taichung Spydies (Zulu, Sage I, Chaparral) have been flawless in manufacturing and operation. My recent Seki Spydies (Dragonfly G10, Lum Tango sprint) have had very minor but acceptable nits. However, my recent Golden Spydies (Millie Ti/M4, Para2 20CP) ha...

I consider myself an "enthusiastic user." :)

I'm fortunate enough to have a nice selection of 'users' to chose from each morning. Sometimes, I put more thought into what to carry than into what to wear.

Wow, I didn't expect this question to result with someone's Spydie being taken apart! I suspect that CF laminate is less expensive than a full CF scale, which is probably another reason the Sage I, Chaparral and Gayle Bradley models are reasonably priced. IMHO I think the Sage I is the "best ba...

No aftermarket CF is going to be close to what the guys in Taiwan are currently doing for Spyderco, they are putting out some of, if not the best, CF scales in the industry. That's a bummer for me, unless there's a Zulu/CF sprint on the drawing board. I think Taichung is putting out some of the bes...

Where to find Chaparral/Sage CF material?

I would love to modify my Zulu to have the same CF scales as on the Chaparral and Sage I. Can someone please tell me where I can find these scales?

Thanks,
Ira

Hi Brian,

Thanks for whetting my appetite for another Spydie to drain my wallet. :) (This forum does more to encourage my spending than the business website.)

Could you please post some comparison pics to give us an idea of its relative size?

Thanks again!
