Re: At Last, A Tactical Bottle Opener

Do we have any hard info on the 'custom shop' idea that's been floated around (I.e. the future ability to select desired blades/tools and have a finished Clipitool made to those specs)?

Exciting, if so.

Re: Spyderco ClipiTool Earthman 3-bladed knife

I'm less excited about the 'earthman' than I would be the 'bushcrafter': (1) saw with as long of a blade as possible, (2) short robust blade for hard stuff, and (3) Sprig-like blade for fish and kitchen.

It would be my go-to Boundary Waters knife, for sure.

Leatherman made a few knives with integrated carabiners. No experience with them though.

Re: Spyderco ClipiTool Earthman 3-bladed knife

I wonder if this becomes a platform for individually customized Clipitools?
Go online, select your preferred combination of blades/tools/etc. and there you go.

Re: Smaller Police4 Sal ?

I just love the blade/handle ratio of the Rookie.

A refresh would be welcome- though there's a part of me that felt it was too thin a handle for such a thick blade stock. Liners and thinner (k390?), slicey blade and we're set!

Re: Any new Phil Wilson designs?

Bow river looks exciting. Going the value route is probably a good idea. I have yet to grab a Sprig - but it's on my radar. I'd love to find one second hand; maybe I'm an odd one, but I often like to find high quality items that have been put through some use. I think it gives me a better sense of h...

Maybe. Sounds like they are working on a design, but there's not much info out yet. At any rate, that's the knife I'm waiting (and hoping) for!
It would certainly seem like a keeper.

Re: At Last, A Tactical Bottle Opener

The original ClipiTool Bottle Opener at 2.57" closed is very compact. I have one of those, too. The original is a nice alternative to carrying, say, a dragonfly - but the 2018 Standard feels like a proper light work tool whereas the original is a whole other step down in robustness. I realize ...

Re: At Last, A Tactical Bottle Opener

I know Eric mentioned variations of the ClipiTool. I'm hoping for a bushcraft version with a saw and an awl for the two tools. Basically, a bigger version of the Swiss Bianco bushcrafter. Strongly on board with that! When I carry a SAK it is a model with the wood saw. Works better than you'd think ...

Re: More K390?

Since we did the Police, might as well do a Rookie sprint. :D FFG or original grind? FFG would be awesome IMO, swedge optional, but I'm not picky at this point. Ideally I'm hoping for a Rookie2 rather than a sprint. Definitely K390 :D :spyder: A modernized k390 Rookie would be great. I'd prefer dou...

Re: FRN Worker ?

I'm a huge Rookie fan - but IMO there always did seem to be a slight imbalance between the super thin g10 grip and moderately thick blade. It's very pocketable and simply has the best blade:handle ratio; however, the blade feels built for work while the handle is too thin for bearing down. Make the ...

Gentleman folder with screwdriver/bottle opener?

Anyone else want to see a ~3 inch gentleman folder that incorporates a thin slicing blade (Rookie inspired) and a Victorinox-style bottle opener/screwdriver?

Would punch all my daily use, light task buttons.
