Re: Another Cruwear Manix 2 KW Exclusive?
The Manix 2 is a great knife and Spyderco's CF is really nice, too. I have a G-10 cru-wear version and love it, the CF version I'd prefer so I'm definitely tempted.Ovrclck wrote:Just ordered mine today! Pretty excited as this will be my first Manix 2.

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places
There's no more 52100 Millies, so how are they selling them in 1 to 2 months? The price has risen some but still very good if ordered directly through Amazon. Still, I don't see how that can be fulfilled at a later date

Re: Help me spend some money!
You'd really have to specify what you're seeking to do with this knife before a good recommendation could be made. The Sage series is excellent. 154cm is a lower carbide steel that takes a fine edge but doesn't hold it for a long time. Benchmade also makes some fantastic knives, though personally I'...

Re: Another Cruwear Manix 2 KW Exclusive?
I was not aware of this. I have the previous version in Cruwear...but the CF is super nice. I may need it. Wonder when it will be up for order if it's already being distributed.

Re: Spyderco knives: Copper, Brass and Bronze scales?
I got into pens for a bit and tried out numerous materials (as well as with flashlights). Copper does age nicely but it is extremely soft and the scent on your hands is rather annoying. The other choices mentioned have their own issues, too. Personally, the variations of titanium which can be anodiz...

If you want a Nirvana, that's a great way to pick it up at the 15% off. Unfortunately, no Spyderco Magnitude there.

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread
In Boston itself we're limited to 2.5" but luckily anywhere outside of the city, we can carry any size blade as long as its not an Auto or double edged. *Sidebar* I really don't know how people who want some freedom to be themselves can live in such oppressive places, especially when they can ...

Re: Keep ending up with Spyderco....
The Sage and pm3 have different blade shapes and different handle shapes, but it is possible they could be overly similar as I don't know the ergos would vary all that much.

Re: Massdrop Spring Delica zdp-189 G-10
I mentioned the corrosion resistance as being inaccurately described since it is not one of the most corrosion resistance steels, not by a long shot. For some, this is very misleading. That being said, I like the knife in some ways. Cool pattern, ZDP steel, Delica platform...all good things. The pri...

That's a really cool experience, thanks for sharing. That PM2 you gave her is indeed a perfect EDC but also has a bit of extra cool factor IMO.

Re: Sal, any hope for a Cruwear Native 5 in dark gray G10?
Thanks for bringing all of the information in for reference. I think Cruwear, because of its high attainable hardness, will really depend on the heat treat for what sort of edge retention you'll get. Custom makers seem to do well with it whereas Spyderco may be on the more conservative side in a pro...

Re: Sal, any hope for a Cruwear Native 5 in dark gray G10?
just curious, why a relatively tougher, lower wear resistance steel for a smaller knife? If a carbon steel is desired something like 10V or M4 would seem to make more sense. Unless it's more just to have the whole Golden lineup in cruwear? Cruwear has better wear resistance than S30V, I do believe ...

Re: Spyderco folding beard comb?
The coolest beard comb I've seen is the automatic one by, I believe Marfione. Elmax steel.. almost got one just because automatic knives are illegal where I live but automatic combs would not be. The HEA one is unattractive IMO. I think a Spyderco comb would be cool, but I do think plastic would be ...

Re: What really is hard use?
So what really are we buying these top of the line steels for? I understand opening packages and light duty edc. But some don't like the though of hard use on spydercos. I don't mind using mine in the "hard use" category, I just don't want it wearing my lock up or any other important fact...
