Re: Orders at DLT Trading, shipment to Europe

I'm in Texas, not German; but I have ordered from DLT. They shipped my HAP40 Manbug via USPS 1st Class in a small box with a bit of packing and the Manbug box.

Re: My thoughts about the Positron

My orange G-10 S35VN model arrived in today's mail. On my kitchen scale it weighs 2.8 ounces compared to my CF S30V model's 2.6 ounces. In my opinion the carbon fiber version is far more elegant. The orange will work with jeans and I'll use the black when wearing my charcoal gray pinstripe suit. Aft...

Re: My thoughts about the Positron

Have you guys tried reaching around and unlocking the knife with your index finger? It’s painfree and is very easy to do. That's the way I close mine. Slightly rotate the knife in my hand, press on the release with my index finger, and push on the back of the blade with my thumb. Move the index fin...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

After practicing with my new CF Positron for a week I can now one hand open and close it as fast or faster than I can do my eight year old Delica. Right handed that is. I've developed a true fondness for the Positron. It will not replace my Delicas and Enduras when I anticipate heavy chores, but in ...

Re: To Those of You That Just Got a Positron ...

After studying my CF Positron since Monday and spending some time learning holds, grips, flips, flicks, and tricks I love my new Positron. It will never replace my workhorse Delicas and Enduras, but it is a well designed cutting machine which I find easy to operate after a bit of practice. Things I'...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

I've now had my CF Positron for two days. My initial clumsiness was due to years of almost exclusive use of Delicas and Enduras. After a bit of practice with the Positron I have become proficient opening and closing it with my right hand. I'm starting to learn left hand opening. I find that my best ...

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

The carbon fiber Positron I ordered for $100 from Knife Center arrived about an hour ago. I had never used a flipper before. I was an utter failure on my first few attempts at opening the blade and would have to flick my wrist to get the blade to deploy fully. Then I held the knife firmly and tried ...

Re: Mercy killing with your Spydie?

A pair of pliers, such as on a multitool, applied swiftly to the neck crushing the spine/breaking the neck will rapidly put down birds and small animals such as squirrels. I used to have a pliers like device called a necker for use on wounded ducks, back in my heavy bird hunting days.

Re: A first post regarding a first Spyderco

My personal Spyderco collection is composed of eight Delicas in various blade configurations, four Enduras, one Tazman Salt 2 , one Dragonfly, four Lady/Manbugs, and a Positron is in the mail. I would recommend your first Spyderco be a VG-10 Delica with standard FFG blade. If you are looking for som...

Re: Spyderco flippers

Hi Archangel, I would suggest that if you want one, you should get one and enjoy it. If you have a problem, we will certainly take care of you. The company believes that the majority of the problem was created by "experts" adjusting their knives and bending the washers. We've since re-eng...

Re: It’s not the FRN, it’s the pattern

FRN is some pretty tough stuff, but I'd think some extra-fine sandpaper and a light sanding will smooth out any areas that are chaffing. I thought the clip was designed to push on the smooth part of the FRN scales to reduce pocket wear?

That's a much better fit for my Delica collection than the green/yellow S30V... better price too. I can wait.

Re: Ladybug user experience?

Hmm, I don't really do keychain knives (hate using a tool with half a lb of keys on them) so it would just go on a lanyard for me... Maybe dragonfly/chap/urban/caly is the answer after all I only have my two house keys and a Ladybug or Manbug on a 1 1/4" split ring. Other keys go on a separate...

Re: Ladybug user experience?

I carry a HAP40 Ladybug on my key ring and like other folks have said I tend to use it in my office or in other public places that would be inappropriate for some of the larger knives that I carry. Realistically the Ladybug can handle 99% of the daily tasks that I need a knife for and it keeps my l...

Re: Ladybug user experience?

My Ladybugs and Manbugs are capable key ring knives that I feel are as useful as any Dragonfly of similar design and materials. I think of my Dragonfly more as an ultralight far less capable Delica. The Dragonfly in my mind is middle ground between a Manbug and a Delica. If I'm going to carry a knif...
