... I generally carry only tip-up in my right front pocket because the spine of the knife is up against the seam of the pocket making it impossible to open accidentally in the pocket (something that might happen with tip down). ... Also, when reaching into a pocket with a knife clipped to it, I pre...

I always carry a Dragonfly Salt when mountain biking, and its great! Its clipped to a pocket, and so light I don't even notice it. I love the corrosion resistance of H1. If you forget to rinse it (for a month :D ) its no big deal. If you want something bigger and heavier, I think a Salt 1 or Pacific...

I feel your pain! Here in Johannesburg I know of maybe 3 shops who stock literally only a handful of Spydercos. The biggest shop has quite a big range of maybe 40, but also only the basic models, and at shocking prices. In a previous chat with this shop owner, he just stared at me with a blank expre...

...the only thing i do is to touch it up with a ceramic rod up to 1200grit I tried to like stropping, but I could never get consistent results. Maybe my technique sucks or my strop sucks... So I also use the Edge Pro 1200 grit ceramic hone for touch-ups, and it works really well for me. ...

With Spyderco you have the awesome round hole that has many used besides opening. You can get a little cable at a hardware store or even a hardware section in big box stores. Ie picture wire/cable for picture frame hanging. Then you just use a little lock like the ones to lock your suitcase. Run th...

Very interesting thread, I've learnt a few things... (thanks BH49 for that quote) Which makes me wonder if H1 would stay just as sharp in the drawer as when it was put away? A while ago I saw a Youtube video where Cutlerylover did a long term torture test on H1, to see if he could get it to rust. If...

I felt the need to resurrect this old thread to add my WOW to this chorus. My GB arrived today, and I am HUGELY impressed. This knife is absolutely flawless! :) I'm looking forward to see how M4 behaves, but I can already see that it takes a very fine sharp edge, finer than 20CP. With some Tuff glid...

Agree! I have both the serrated H1 and the G10 versions, and I carry them regularly during the week in the office. I really like the H1 version for messy jobs, like cutting food/fruit, since I can just rinse and forget. A week ago during an office lunch I cut a block of cheese on a cheese platter wi...

My vote goes to the EP too, although I've never used the WE. I had a Lansky for a few years, but got so frustrated with the clamping system (knife moving while clamped) that I vowed never to use a clamping system again. What I like about the EP is that you can easily sharpen very long blades, like c...
