Re: Seconds Sale 2020

In light of the above. I have reconsidered. Knowing how the internet can foster social craziness, an online seconds sale would likely engender a kind of forum response no one really wants to endure. I have changed my vote even though I can’t come.

It's a glaring aesthetic mismatch. It's like wearing crocs with a 3-piece suit.

Or this.

Re: New Members

Some here want this place to be a club, a place where you earn your stripes so you can show your chops. I believe Spyderco has just said this place is more than that. If you want to distrust/disdain the motives of newcomers, just do it quietly. Whatever their reasons for coming, they don’t cheapen ...

Re: Seconds Sale 2020

I am all in for an online seconds sale. I am quite positive that Spyderco will not offer non-functioning knives, knives with hazardous Issues, etc. I would welcome the opportunity to get a few models I’ve always wanted at seconds prices.

Re: Seconds Sale 2020

Maybe they will do an online seconds sale this year. :D All the reasons for not doing it online are still valid. I'm pretty sure they'd be better off tossing them all into an active volcano than selling them online, judging by the way people pick and choose at the sale. Either idea is perfect. I li...

Re: Do you prefer knife reviews as videos or text & images?

Hate video “reviews” that are more about the reviewer than the knife and its functions. They are too long and too boring. One that I unfortunately watched part of, fast forwarding through the boring parts, it took the guy over five minutes to just open the **** knife. With text you have to have some...

Re: The comings and goings of a SwayBack

RadioActiveSpyder “ To label this knife as “inferior” in any way really is not appropriate. Don’t like the design, or it doesn’t work for you, that’s absolutely fine but as a production Slysz offering, it’s as top-notch as all the others.” I’m not saying anything like that. I have an issue with open...

There are always a few mean spirited people hiding behind their keyboards. Good riddance I say. Thanks Kristi for all your hard work. No fun but necessary and you do it well.

Re: The comings and goings of a SwayBack

I can’t agree. If I have to find a completely different way to open a Spyderco with the Spydie hole than I use with all my other Spydercos, that’s on Spyderco and the designer. Traditional swayback jacks have a nail mark or grove to facilitate opening. Using it will prevent accidentally cutting your...

Re: The Next Delica

I like the Delica. I really do. In fact like many of us here a Delica was my first Spyderco. A photo of it appears up above in this thread. However, even after having three or four others (my favorite so far being the blue with black hardware) I still prefer my standard basic black G10 Para 3. My ne...

Re: I don't care for Italian knife and pistol designs

My uncle gave me what was alleged to be a real Italian the switchblade, although I do have my doubts about that part. He kept it on the shelf with all of his other doodads and souvenirs but I took it out as a teenager and used it. It fell apart within a month. Sexy looking knife though

Re: The comings and goings of a SwayBack

I think it looks, especially the old traditional look of the sway back jack slip joint, is very appealing, however the execution and size leave much to be desired.

Perhaps it is just that Taichung has tighter tolerances and better machining for the back lock then does Seki city

Re: The comings and goings of a SwayBack

Well it is a Slycz design so the demand will be, and is, there. I love quality folding knives, but a knife is a knife is a knife. If I can’t carry and use it as intended, I have plenty of others that I can. Having a Spyderco with a Spydie hole and not being able to quickly open with one hand when ne...

Re: The Next Delica

I think the newer back locks are a bit better on knives like the Chaparral. I have come to appreciate a wire clip on some knives. For example, it works very well on my Schempp Bowie and is almost invisible.

Re: The Next Delica

Clips are accessories so the option of wire would be ok. An improved back lock would be nice.

Perhaps do a sprint or flash with the wire clip, and the pointy tip. See how those are received.
