Re: AEB-L Urban sprint issue.

What am I missing here...? It looks to me like they corrected the previous issue of the blade contacting the backspacer by adding more space between the two. Yet somehow this warrants complaining about "QC"... As pointed out by other comments, they over corrected the issue and the blade i...

I agree. I can't wait to buy one, or a Kapara, or a Smock. Someone in Taichung is really bad at guessing.
Yeah, I have a rather long want list as well. 😆

Re: Mcbee... Where you be?

I missed out on these due to other knives I was after at the time. I hope I can get one as well. Just a cool looking little knife.

Re: Upcoming Sage 5 LW - Who's In?

The Sage 5 LW will have the new bushing system like the Ikuchi, Kapara and other newer compression lock models. Eric mentioned this at blade I believe.

Re: AEB-L Urban sprint issue.

4B1ACC8D-E63D-4598-A649-8B813C05F098.jpeg It looks like that would be a lot easier to fix by grinding down the spring than the heel, but I'm sure there's a very long and interesting story behind the result. I'd guess the fix was done without disassembly to save a lot of time/money. I thought the sa...

Does it look like this is from the way the backspring interface was laid out, or is it something like a pivot hole placement?
Looks like the backspring layout to me.

Re: AEB-L Urban sprint issue.

I apologize as I’m having trouble posting the other pics but I think you get the idea. When the regular Urban is closed the tip sits much lower than the tip on the aeb-l. After several sharpenings it may leave the tip exposed. Anyone else notice this? I’ve confirmed the same issue with two others.

AEB-L Urban sprint issue.

It seems that something was off during the run of the Urban AEB-L sprint run. When closed the blade tip sits pretty high. A friend brought this to my attention and after comparing my regular Urban with the sprint it looks like they ground part of the choil down in an attempt to make the blade sit lo...

Re: s30v spyderco's acceptable

I love s30v and own and use many knives that have it. I see the two biggest complaints about it being that it is still called a ‘super steel’ or ‘premium steel’ and the other complaint being when Spyderco makes an expensive model and use s30v. These issues really don’t bother me, I love it regardles...

Re: First knife S110v - help me not screw it up.

Aside from everything that has been mentioned, buy a good set of torx drivers for adjusting the pivot and tightening up the clip screws from time to time. Everything that has been said is the best advise you could get. Welcome to the forum and great choice for a first Spyderco.

Re: Nick's question of "why"?

Just watched your video ALuckyBum and I've seen the pocket clip and lanyard hole grip many times. I personally do not use a lanyard so removing it would make no difference to me. I do like the hourglass clip tho. I feel the Para3 in is a great knife and love it as is. To stay on topic tho, I'm of th...

Re: Nick's question of "why"?

Spyderco's innovative ideas and willingness to try new things are what brought me back to this hobby. Why does the Cheesecake Factory have so many types of cheesecake? Why are there so many tv options these days? Pick what you like and be happy.

Re: Burned Edges....

It would seem that with steel being a conductor of heat that any over heating at the edge would go further into the steel that just a few sharpenings. Not necessarily, the thicker cross section takes longer to heat up. That makes sense but ppl are saying just a few sharpenings deep into the edge.

I was very lucky to snag one yesterday. I was just walking on the beach and decided to check in. Bingo. The site crashed immediately after I got my confirmation.
Perhaps it was your spydersense that told you the time was right. 😁 Congratulations
