I apologize as I’m having trouble posting the other pics but I think you get the idea. When the regular Urban is closed the tip sits much lower than the tip on the aeb-l. After several sharpenings it may leave the tip exposed. Anyone else notice this? I’ve confirmed the same issue with two others.

I love s30v and own and use many knives that have it. I see the two biggest complaints about it being that it is still called a ‘super steel’ or ‘premium steel’ and the other complaint being when Spyderco makes an expensive model and use s30v. Aside from everything that has been mentioned, buy a good set of torx drivers for adjusting the pivot and tightening up the clip screws from time to time. Everything that has been said is the best advise you could get. Welcome to the forum and great choice for a first Spyderco.

It would seem that with steel being a conductor of heat that any over heating at the edge would go further into the steel that just a few sharpenings. Not necessarily, the thicker cross section takes longer to heat up. That makes sense but ppl are saying just a few sharpenings deep into the edge.
