I have to agree with Chuck on this one. I think it's probably not sharp because it just isn't and probably needs to be sharpened. Not trying to be difficult, just sayin...

Bug :D The Zombie gods are unhappy with all of your petty sacrifices... they demand bigger and better knives or will release their hoards of undead. No Rock Salt or Ronin will save you then, not even with the Doc on your side. ... anyway, the Zombie apocolyse seems to be talked about quite a ...

Ouch... I'd give up my much newer G-10 Caly3 way before I would give up my oldest and much loved Delica 1... can't get that pointy tip anymore.

Well, I have to say that I didn't start this thread to bash Spyderco nor to be disrespectful to any of Spyderco's wonderful knives. Rather, I thought it would be a humorous counterpoint to all these "which one spyderco knife would you pick" threads. I have been quite amused so far with the...

One Spyderco - to destroy

If you were faced with the Zombie apocalyse, but could save your life and the life of your family and friends by sacrificing up one of your beloved Spyderco knives to the Zombie gods, which one would you sacrifice? :p

I would also say Delica - one of the best knives for the price, and most versitile. Large enough to get a full handled grip if needed, but small enough not to attract too much attention. About the right size for indoor work in my opinion.

Chokwe is my favorite spyderco right now... awesome design and the best fit/finish of any knife I've owned. You won't be disappointed.

My optimal index finger placement on the grip is about 3/4" from the beginning of the edge (I measure on my delica 1) The Delica was my first Spyderco so this is what I've grown naturally accustommed to; this is where my hand feels most comfortable gripping a knife. With a 50/50 choil, like on ...

Wow... that doesn't look good. Doesn't look right to me. Is that even engaging the tang of the blade? Vertical blade play?

Then the Delica, Endura, Police, Tenacious, Persistance, Resiliance, Ambitious, Centofante 3, or one of the Lums might be better choices for you. If you want neither a conventional blade shape or 50/50 choil, there are the Tasman Salt, Spyderhawk, Civilian, Assist, Leafstorm, P'kal, and the Zulu to...

Para 2, Military, Native, Sage, Caly 3/3.5, Stretch 2, UKPKs, Urban, Kiwis, Chokwe, Manix 2...seems like a lot of variety to me, and that's just naming a few. I think part of the issue is that all those knives you listed have choils except for the Chokwe... they have that choil bump right where I w...

Araneae, Chuck Buck is talking specifically about in house designs, and most of the knives you mention are not. Of what you mention, the Zulu, Chokwe, Centofantes, Rock Lobster, Bradley, PPT, Leafstorm, Balance, Barong, Yojimbo and Captain all aren't in house designs. Only the D4, E4, Police, Harpy...

recently though, it seems like everything designed in-house by spyderco and about half the other designs have 50/50 choils and the leaf shaped blades. the caly line and native have mated and their offspring have taken over the spyderco catalog. im not so against the leaf, just want something differ...

The only thing on the Sage 3 is made it Taiwan, I mean $130 for an Asian made blade bothers me a little. Don't be decieved... Taiwan has the best fit and finish of any of the knife makers. Their knife construction is amazing! Many on this forum would agree with that statement. Personally, I don't l...

hey o. many years ago my grandfather who was a machinist toolmaker taught me if I ever wanted to test carbon or stainless steels all I had to do was cut a lemon or any high acidic food and lick the residue off the blade. If it tasted rancid it was carbon steel, I had forgotten that until I read you...
