Re: others' magnacut blades?

I have two from JWKnives and they are amazing. One fixed and one friction. Keep an eye on his site as they go super quick. Reasonable price and great service. And he used vintage scale materials. They hold and keep a fine edge. I’ve hacked wood with them and cut cardboard without needing to touch up...

Re: 2024 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

My 2024 Calendar Entry. The Spyderco Hossom Woodlander. Every time someone sees it, they are amazed. The quality, ergonomics, and just plain "vibe" of this fixed blade is unmatched. Not enough people know about it. And the Logo placement ain’t bad for a promo pic like a calendar. So, here ...

More inexpensive users. When the work gets rough, time to pull out the old #10 Opinel Carbon Steel with a few tweaks - blade profile enhanced and lanyard hole drilled. It’s unbeatable for those dirty / gnarly tasks.

OG Umnumzaan - big pivot, weird tool, no lock bar stopper, no big words or logos. Basically perfect.

Re: So much for my Otanashi frame lock fix.

Since you can't return, and probably shouldn't give it away if you think it isn't safe, try one last thing: Take it apart and GENTLY bend the frame lock arm inward. That way there will be more pressure into the blade when it's locked. Note: detente will be tighter, so knife may be a little harder to...

Peanut butter. Paper towel. Wipe away from edge. Food safe, metal safe, and you can snack while you work. I am really trying to reduce chemical use anywhere I can.

In a jam, if it’s a working knife, lighter fluid can’t be beat.
