But..........replace the Delica as EDC! It can't be that good!!!! :D Wellll.... maybe not replace it entirely... but it will give it a run in the rotation ;) My Delica's become my real "user..." It takes the abuse I can't bring myself to give prettier knives, but for all that it's earned ...

You might have to loosen it just a little. Mine was fine as is, but I've seen some Militaries that were pretty tight new.

Zrexxer can you elaborate on how you pinch the lock and flip it closed one handed? Pinch the lock bar completely closed between thumb and forefinger - picture 1. Steady the knife with remaining fingers - picture 2. Flip the wrist to close blade - pictures 3 and 4. With a little practice it becomes ...

Because sharpening the swedge opens a whole new can of worms in the states and countries that have regulations against double edged blades or "daggers." My own included.

I bought mine NIB for $50, but that was a year and a half ago. They're not getting any more plentiful, but $100 seems rich to me.

Clean it, work it, use it. It will loosen up. As RLR said loosen your pivot a little if need be. I can pinch the compression lock on my Para and flip it closed one-handed. Trust me, you want the tolerances tight when they're new. It just takes some breaking in.

Centofante III - Third Time's the Charm

OK, I admit it; the Centofante designs never really "spoke" to me before. I had a Centofante II once and I finally passed it on to Fredswartz. There aren't that many Spydercos that I just never warm up to - but that was one. Having had that experience, I was somewhat hesitant to try a Cent...

It's not that difficult, just search on "Terzuola," 7 hits including two customs and a Camillus designed by Bob T. The remaining 4 are Spydercos.

Yeah, there's one on eBay right now with aluminum scales that is over $81 with 9 bids already, and it still has nearly 7 days left to close.

The Paramilitary's compression lock is light years ahead of the Walker liner lock. I think the Para is the the ultimate evolution of the Military design. The compression lock is just what its name says; it's in compression between the stop pin and the tang of the blade. It just can't fail unless the...

Deacon, I appreciate your well-thought out analysis. You make some good points, one of which as I already suspected, is that the lack of need for the dent is dependent on model. Looking at the pics of the Manix again I'd have a hard time seeing how the Boye Dent could be incorporated into that parti...

No chance. VG-10's expensive. I'm betting on a highly-stainless, impact-resistant steel, probably a 300 series or 416. Not good enough for a blade, but ideal for a grip. It's magnetic, so it's not a 300 series. And 416 is a martensitic hardenable alloy, so I'm guessing maybe one of the ferritic all...

Welcome to the middle ages . Ha, I'm there too ;) I've got one of those round magnifying lamps on an arm mounted over my knife/gun bench, I can't do a darn thing up close without it anymore! I'm still on the fence about my Para. In the hand, I love the knife. I like the ergonomics, the shape, the s...

Hi Deacon. Congrats on getting your way with the Manix. It's funny, but I find that the dent not only looks better, but makes one hand closing (which I do 100% of the time) much easier and free of the slight pain I feel without the dent. I have an "undented" Native that I was gripping tig...

cdf wrote:The Para is nice handling slim and lite . It seems a good utility cutter . I dont care much for the unlined G10 handles , this is prolly irrational as your hand would give long before the G10 .
The Paramilitary isn't unlined; the liners are nested, or inlet, into the G10 slabs.

That's about impossible to answer without knowing what is - or isn't - affordable to you.

Wash it out. GOOD. Hot water, soap (I prefer Simple Green), rinse thoroughly, use a toothbrush around the pivot area, then blow it out with compressed air if you've got it. Lubricate with your preferred stock and have at it. Works most of the time.

I personally don't like black blades, if you use them they will always end up looking like crap - but I love the Delica. I carry a SE Delica day in, day out. The funny thing is the first time I saw one, I hated it... but it grew on me, I guess you could say. I have the Paramilitary too, and frankly,...
