Re: What is this on the new Spydiechef lock bar?
I'm actually surprised it's taking this long. I assumed one of the Spyderco folks could look at the picture and say, "Oh, that's just so and so" and move on. :)

Re: Light Weight LC200N Kapara?
Has there been any serious testing comparing S30V to LC200N? Is the edge retention about the same? If so, then would it be feasible to entirely replace the S30V base models with LC200N? I think people may like that change even if the whole knife isn't 100% rust-proof. I’d love for EVERY Spyderco mo...

By holding it vertically on a tabletop it tilts from one side to the other raising one edge off the tabletop and creating a 20° angle (40° total angle) for sharpening knife blades.

Re: Who else is getting an Ikuchi as soon as they are released?
Well, I broke down and disassembled it late yesterday evening and can conclusively share that the production Ikuchi blade rides on phosphor-bronze washers. The knife is fairly simple internally and not too tough to service. But, tuning the pivot tightness is key if you do tear down the Ikuchi, it’s...

True, but Paul said that there were pre-production versions with and without bearings and neither he nor Eric was sure what the final production version would contain.

Rakuten.com is taking 15% off with coupon code SAVE15 [Exp 3/6]. I was going to take advantage of this offer, but when I went to register for their site I actually read their terms of use. Re: Spyderco and Murray Carter colab...
I really would like to see a full set with a block in LC200N. Don't forget the slots for the Galley V stones to be stored in the block. I'd probably buy one for me, my parents and the inlaws. ^^^This. I sure hope Eric and/or Sal see this and take your suggestion (if they haven't already designed su...

Howdy all, My production sample just came in, so I guess I’m slightly ahead of the curve. ;) 5992CC75-9CCF-4F6E-BA5B-AE99EF4223D2.png Hope those folks interested find it as fun to cut AND fidget with as I am... having trouble getting anything else done this evening with the Ikuchi around to play wi...

The second detent ball is only there to comply with the myriad of knife laws out there about pushbutton free-droppers. I'm pretty sure there is a reason that it is very easy for us to remove it.

Re: Spyderco and Murray Carter colab...
Judging by the photos, there is some serious patina action going on there! I'd love to see these in LC200N; it would be nice to have a set of kitchen knives that would never rust.

Yep, that is why I included the link to the original thread and posted the sharpener info in a new one so as to avoid derailing the topic.

Re: Spyderco Kapara to Redback Mod
Thanks for posting that. Sometimes it seems a bit silly to do a video on undoing 3 screws :D but if it gives some the confidence to do a little maintenance or modifications etc on their knives then it was well worth it. It is refreshing to see *someone* realizing you dont have to strip a knife down...

Dry... then use a large white pencil eraser to wipe off any metal particles. Works great!

Re: I'm not a drinking man, but...
Is this not a spydiechef. https://i.imgur.com/w3Tqqah.jpg Looking at these images side-by-side, it sure looks like Dimitry Sinkevich very liberally used the Spydiechef as his design "inspiration." It looks like he's taken a knife I love and made it more refined. But, I sure hope Spyderco ...
