Re: Doh! I have a Microsoft Issue....
I recently ran it on my backup computer and it found and removed two things Norton/Symantec missed. The problem was bad RAM, I believe actually (will swap them out soon), but I noticed the PC ran faster after those two "malicious files" were removed. Need to run it on the laptop.

Re: Tanto Para2: This Is The Real Deal & Thank you Eric Glesser
I don't own a Spyderco tanto (I have an Emerson, a CRKT, and a cheap Milwaukee), but despite my disdain for the blade shape, it's quite practical. I was cleaning out an outbuilding, and breaking up a pushmower box. The CRKT M-16 10KZ was used in addition to my Saver Salt for cutting up that monster ...

This is for people who really can't make up their minds, like myself. Some of my knives are tip-up, RH (those I can't open/unlock with my left hand), others tip-up LH (those I can open left-handed). I am left-handed. Schrade, back when they were still an American company did make an interesting conc...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Yesterday I was carrying my Salt 2/Wharncliffe at work. Most of my co-workers carry razor knives and I watch them slash away at the thin sheets of material we cut from rolls. The nearly 3" edge on the Salt 2 is able to make longer, smoother cuts. (Their work looks like a beaver chewed the mate...

Native 5 Combo Edge. I'm normally a PE or SE, NOT combo edge guy, but this factory second (bought during last Dec.'s sale along with the Para 3) has grown on me immensely.
I'm going to get a PE version, but can't decide between SPY-27 and S110V.

AG Russells. I had a small, Japanese-made titanium-handle penknife that was great, but I lost it. These are my first bought new. At $90, this is the most I've spent on knives in a LONG while. One-Hand Featherweight, clip-point blade/AUS-8 steel. k-93c10-b10.jpg Hunter Scalpel: AUS-10, orange handle....

Re: Centofante--Authentic?
Thanks guys. To see this is not fake and a current production model, and can be had for the same price is reassuring. I can put this towards a model I like better, like the Stretch 2.

Centofante--Authentic?
I have the opportunity to pick this one up for $75. The individual selling it is pretty reputable on another forum, but Spyderco fakes can be hard to spot for some. The reason for me to doubt it is the markings look somewhat wonky, and the fact some NIB Spydercos have high resale values. But, from w...

I'd be another with a slightly smaller take on the Clipitool more inline with a 91mm SAK, but one-hand opening and unlike the current Clipitool, with back tools like the SAK.

Re: Poll What’s your Mule future
Whichever ones I can get. Spyderco doesn't seem to do that many in a year, and they are affordable. The Mules are an incredible bang for your buck. Most American-made (sometimes sharpened and ground, othertimes not) cutlery blanks are around $20 for basic ones, all the way up to close to $100 for ot...

Re: Spyder Classics: The Merlin
I'm a big fan of the Harpy, just not its size and weight. I've been thinking about the Tasman Salt, but I like the exact closed size of the Merlin/Harpy. From what I'm seeing, I do have the chance of finding a Merlin at prices similar to the $50 I paid for my Harpy. I found a somewhat affordable Har...

Re: How did you get interested in Spyderco knive
I blame my Granddad and the coal mining industry to start. Around here, practically every guy over 40 that worked in the mines owns at least one (and often several) carbon steel Klein Tools hawkbills. Do any work with one of these guys, and I will guarantee you, that's the knife they'll have on them...

Sandvik 14C28N. Underated because it's somewhat inexpensive steel, and mostly seen now on the entry-level USA-made Onion Kershaws, replacing old steadfast 420HC. I have it on my Leek and it holds a really good edge.

I'm not in fixed blades a this point of my Spyderco collector's life. But i think the idea of Mule Team is unique and thats what the spirit of Spyderco is. How much should you make? I don't know! An old german saying goes like this: "Too little and too much is the fool's goal." So i mean,...

A used, but not abused black-handle Saver Salt for $45. The Rescue/Atlantic Salt is too big for my use, but the Saver Salt/Rescue 79mm at just over 4" closed with a 3" blade is right at my sweet spot. I'd been looking at the Rescue 79mm/Saver Salt since I got into Spyderco in early 2017. L...

https://i.postimg.cc/43b5JTKD/20201216-140332-HDR.jpg Where the lockbar and blade meet looks a little funny. Don't recall seeing a traditional 110 look like that. There was a manufacturing reason for that. We discussed it over on the Buck forum, but I cannot recall, now, what the reason was. The re...

Re: 2021 New Years Knife Resolutions?
Cut back on the bulk lots. I'm tired of worn-out junkers (but provided, I can use those for parts--as they all have bolsters, liners, and shields that are all still usable) that don't snap, have broken tips, and/or don't lock any more, and cheap low-end knives not worth even as a beater. And as of l...
