Re: Red loctite
If it isn't red I don't know what it is, I just stripped out a head on my Para-3. Another question why are the screws so soft, just to keep down cost or to ensure if the locktite is doing what it should the screws will strip? Seems there is actually a slight difference in the way the screws a...

Re: Red loctite
Doing a bit of research on this show that Red Loctite requires 550 degrees to free. That's a bit high for my liking when all of my knives are FRN. The recommendation on Loctite's site also shows to advisory to not use on plastic parts. Loctite make a liquid remover, which I would think would be the...

Re: NFFF/Never-Summer NATIVE: How "SALTy"?
All Salt series knives have hardware that is not corrosion resistant Ok I'm confused between this comment and Sal's comment. It was my understanding that Salt series have hardware that is indeed corrosion resisant just like the blade. Is the hardware also lc200n or just the blade? I remember from a...

Re: Anyone else strop there folders?
I've been thinking about getting the knives plus one, the green one on a block, they claim it's one of the best? Now that I'm getting into more exotic steels (thanks spyderco) it might not be a bad idea? I just got that one in the mail the other day, it already has the compound on the leather and i...

Re: An observation regarding H1
Well from my understanding heat has nothing to do with this steel at all as it is not heat treated like other steels. The work hardening on the other hand is how it is hardened. I haven't used mine enough to get experience this phenomenon yet myself.

Yup! I try to do it responsibly so as not to endanger myself or look like I'm on my way to murder someone, but I'm sure it happens. :o Live life on the edge! Pun totally intended. Totally made me laugh. I think the same thing. Hope no one calls the cops on the psycho with knife in the truck. Haha I...

Re: Do you play with your knife in the car.
I do. My steering wheel has a little gouge in it where I flicked my manix a little too close to it and the blade tip stabbed a hole in it.

Re: PM2 red Locktite in pivot?
I haven't had my newest Military apart to know but if that pivot has red locktite in the pivot then I welcome it. I've never had a folder come with a better dialed in pivot action and KEEP that pivot action over extended use. They usually loosen up with use but so far after a couple months of daily...

Re: PM2 red Locktite in pivot?
Soldering iron or wood burner to the screw head and a wiha torx should take care of it.

Re: Red loctite
This is from Charlynn in warranty. I asked several months ago. "We use loctite 243 (the blue one) or 262 (the red one) depending on the screw." I've purchased several Paramilitary 2 sprints in the past few months. Of the ones I've disassembled, every single one had red loctite on the body...

After looking more closely at the picture it appears there is a little gap at the back of the cutting edge. That's making me pretty sure there fake. Anyone else more knowledgeable than myself want to chime in?

Re: Silicon Nitride or Zirconia (Ceramic) ball for CBBL?
After doing this modification I wont carry a Manix 2 that can be disassembled without doing it. I wish the lw version could be disassembled so I could do this to them. I have researched all the data on loads and shock and such. The knife will break long before the ball does. Theres a guy on here som...
