It's rust. I use my Para 2 in a salty environment, and I had the same issue. I just took it apart, and lightly sanded it with 1500 grit sandpaper and some steel wool and that took care of it.

Donut, It only sticks when I go to disengage it. It stuck a little when I first got it, but it seems to be getting harder to unlock now. It looks like a little bit of the coating has worn off where it engages, I'm wondering if that might be what's causing it. I'm like you though, I do prefer a lock ...

Sticky Para2 lock

I have a black bladed Para2, and have noticed the lock getting pretty sticky over the past week or so. Anyone have any advice to help free it up a bit?

^Best opening line ever.

I would definitely love to see a bobbed Delica. I like the Endura, but I feel just a bit more comfortable about carrying the smaller knife. Of course, if it comes down to it, I'll just have to pick up a Delica and take a grinder to it on my own. ;)

Did Spyderco discontinue the Kopa line, or is it just certain variants that are going for crazy prices?

I was thinking about Kurt the other day,as I noticed he hadn't been around in quite a while.

Get well soon Kurt, we'll be looking forward to hearing from you again.

Thanks guys. I'm actually surprised it didn't go higher, but I guess the stainless Calypso isn't a popular model.

Got a Black Para2!!

I ordered this one a few months ago, but it was out of stock at the time. Then I started seeing threads about how the black coated blade had been discontinued, so I was really getting worried. Well, this past weekend I received an email telling me the knife was on its way. Today I opened up the ship...

I normally wear a Luminox that I've had for about 10 years, but since the sweep hand started moving every 4 seconds, I went back to my G-2900. It's an ok watch, but I don't really use any of the auxiliary features, and the band is cracking after occasional use. Still, I keep eyeballing a DW5600, and...

I got a Delica 4 FFG in Brown for Christmas, and it has taken over my pocket. I would almost go as far as saying this is what the 4th generation models should have been when they first came out. It's just that much better to me, than the saber ground models.

Thanks for the information. Truthfully, I've never really deployed my Spydercos by grabbing the hole and flicking them open. I guess I always worry about flinging them. I guess that method doesn't work as well with the lighter handled FRN models either.

You're right Deacon, I'm not sure why I said nested liners. I guess I've been staring at the Military too much. I was thinking of skeletonized liners, not nested. I wouldn't think they would add too much to the cost.

Why were the older stainless models tip down?

Looking at pictures of older Spyderco models, I noticed that most if not all of the stainless models were made to be carried tip down only, while the FRN models were tip up. Was there a reason for the difference between the two?

I would love to see another Worker. I think if it were to have G-10 scales, it should at least have nested steel liners. Of course, I would be happy to have stainless handles as well, as I've never had an issue using them.

It's funny, but after watching that clip, I remembered the scene before the shootout in the first episode, where the deputy could be seen taking the safety off of his Glock. Oops :p
