Re: Crunch-Time Hardware? Spyders For Trying Times?
Mostly Dragonflies. Always a small Swiss Army. I keep needing scissors, of all things. I miss my wharnie at work.

Re: Spyderco serration history
I think a lot of us originally stayed away from, or were turned off of serrations because we didn’t know how EASY they are to sharpen with Sal’s tools and teaching. Also, when they’re sharp, they cut well, with less, or no snagging. I know I did a complete 180° turn with them. I’ve tested on various...

Re: Endela paradigm shift!
Yes, the Endela just feels smaller and lighter, but not. It is a masterful design for the 3.5" size range.

Won't it be cool to try this out with a larger Roadie?

Also, if you add a dent you have to be sure first that you can still depress the lock bar down far enough to disengage the lock.

Thanks, Sal. Where would we be without Gail and you? I enjoyed the history.

Re: Endela paradigm shift!
Funny how I don’t like that size range, but the Endela just feels awesome, and it wants to cut. PE and SE. I like them both. Perfect weight too.

Thank you for giving it a go, Sal. It sounds pretty cool.
As a side note, we have a lot of time on our hands, so I hope we aren’t too annoying.

Re: Serration Disappointment
They're definitely on the right side of the blade, if you're right handed., especially for whittling. You don't get the blade digging in the wood, etc. too much. Easier to angle the blade away from what you're cutting than into it, to keep it cutting straight. You just get used to it. It's probably ...

Re: Sal—design for Roadie 2
Whatever you make, we’ll buy, Sal. I trust you’re a better designer than us by far. I just hope for a clip if it’s that size range. Not all pants like horizontal knives. And a hole at the far end of the handle, so the fob can fit properly. I love your dimple opener as much as the hole opener. Nail n...

Re: Sal—design for Roadie 2
Hi Doc, I'm watching the thread. Interesting. I guess I'm having difficulty seeing the advantage of new tooling to pick up an additional 3/8" in blade length and a clip? Shortening the Ricasso increases the chance of accidental cutting. In order to fit the double dent in a Warncliffe, the blad...

Re: Show your mods!
Thank you kindly, guys. It really changes this great little big knife, yet still looks like it came from Sal's mind. I like them stock, with rounded humps, and this way. Can't go wrong with a Dfly.

Re: Sal—design for Roadie 2
I love it. With a 2.75 inch blade and 0.078” thick blade stock this would be the best pocket knife on the market. The Roadie handle allows for on hand opening. I can live with 2.8mm thickness as you suggest if it is thin behind the edge. Now, to see what Sal thinks of our collaboration. Or 2.5 mm t...

Re: Sal—design for Roadie 2
Roadie handle, pretty much Roadie blade (still has enough point), pocket clip, and lanyard hole. First has regular choil. Second is more blade, adjusted handle. I like the second one better. I would actually love this knife. Didn’t think I would. Good recommendation on the Roadie handle instead, Doc...
