Re: Spyderco military 440v
Thanks for the pics. It looks like this specific model variation (model and place of manufacture written on the blade, slightly curved clip with 3 screws) was manufactured between the years of 1998 and 2001. http://www.spydiewiki.com/index.php?title=C36_Military

Re: Sal, Can we get CPM 15v?
How would an Average Joe sharpen this, can you get 15V at 67HRC sharp on Sharpmaker, are diamond/CBN rods required or can someone get this sharp on ceramic rods during say someone's lifetime :) I had no problem sharpening similar steels on the brown rods. Reprofiling though? RIP your hands, it just...

Re: Any blade play in the New Green Pac Salt?
No issues with any blade play at all in any direction with both Pac Salt 1 and 2, H1 steel versions. That huge blade play in that clip must definitely be from a manufacturing issue.

Re: Pacific salt disassembly
I'll also agree that the scales are nice in person, but if you want a Salt knife that looks good too check out the Siren! Its more expensive, but by the time you factor in making new scales for the Pacific Salt itd probably be a wash. +1 from me on the Siren! Great option if you plan for plain edge...

Re: Pacific salt disassembly
The scales look and feel way better in person than what the pictures might suggest. Also, its a user right? Looks shouldn't matter, but functionality instead. I dont see any advantage to wood over FRN in a moist, salty environment, just my 2 cents. The Pacific Salt H1 serrated is in my top 3 best Sp...

Nah a lot of people like it from what I see, it's a great G10 color imho. Looks nice in the sun.

Re: Is my Para 3 Maxamet legit? (Photos)
I will buy the 4 sided diamond stone next week. Thanks for your advices. This is what I have here. That thing is not good, for any knife, especially for a high carbide steel. Use a sharpmaker or some bench stones to properly sharpen it and give it a good enough edge, if not you'll be very frustrate...

Re: Besides salt water, what do you find causes rust the most?
I have pretty much stopped buying more tool steels because they rust in storage. Hey Lance, before speaking of such blasphemy  , I suggest you try a product called "Corrosionx" . It doesn't matter if it's the gun oil, aviation or whatever variant they sell, it's the same thing market...

Re: [video] New blade material: A new kind of very tough and flexible ceramic made available for knives
-why don’t standard diamond abrasives work to sharpen it? Do they fracture the edge apex like they can on conventional ceramic blades? I can only guess here, but I assume that polycrystalline diamond compounds is what works, due to certain "crumbly" characteristic of ceramic edges when no...

Re: Where's the 3V?
I'm all for a fixed blade in 3v made by Spyderco, something bushcraft/outdoors oriented. Not interested in a folder, there are other steels I would rather have in that platform (cruwear, more rex45 etc).

[video] New blade material: A new kind of very tough and flexible ceramic made available for knives
Knifemaker and YouTube KKnives Switzerland struck a deal with (presumably) a military weapon's manufacturer that provided him with a new ceramic material that was developed 3 months ago that has a mixture of properties of both steel (high toughness, low hardness and wear resistance before heat treat...

Re: Blade discoloration
I wouldn't worry too much about it, try to wash it with soap and water first, in case its some sort of a thin film of oil. I've had similar bluish spots on stainless steel before, usually after cutting something acidic. Nothing to worry about, the chromium oxide layer is a living thing, constantly c...

Re: Vanax PM2 Lets Do This!!!
Hey man welcome to the forum, I like your memes on your IG page lol. Anyway, you seem to have the funds, why not get a custom blade in Vanax that will be superior in performance to anything Spyderco will have to pull off for general users, geometry wise? There are a couple custom makers using it, BB...

Enjoy your new knife! And yea, its only a matter of time until you get the s110v also, no way you're gonna be happy with just one steel, curiosity always triumphs.
