I think you should keep the swedge and add some nested liners up at the joint end of the handle for added strength. I'm more for the nested liners on the Native III though than I am on the Native I. Maybe do nested liners and a compression lock. I'd love to see an FRN compression lock knife.

First time i saw that movie I noticed something. The way denzel washington handled the knife in two scenes as I remember.....anyone notice? He did not look like he knew how to use a knife, just the way he opened and closed it...seemed awkward, like they said "heres the knife do the scene"...

Personally I'd like to see a sprint run of the Compression Lock Vesuvius. I know that the Centofante III is basically a Vesuvius but it doesn't have a compression lock. I just love that compression lock.

Don't own either knife but from the stats the Stretch is bigger. Different blade profiles on the two. Different handle shapes. Both are stainless handles with Kraton inserts. Not sure about blade steel.

I kinda had a feeling you'd be the one to answer my question.

The Stretch doesn't use the same screws. It uses either hex or torx head screws while the Delica and most other SS models use phillips head screws. My observation of the Stretch screws are based on a picture of one I saw so if I'm wrong please forgive me.

Would the pocket clip screws for the Stretch fit the holes on the SS Delica? If anyone could help me with this I would really appreciate it.

I've been considering getting the Centofante for awhile and your review clinches it for me Fisher. Glad to hear that you like it and I'll let you know what I think of mine when it gets to me.

so why are they named differently Because they function differently. In the case of the liner lock on the Military it's positioned in a different place on the knife and is engineered differently. How the blade puts pressure on the piece of the liner that serves as the lock is different than the on ...

I know with the para has a compression so you have to press the little metal peice to the side.

Same way you unlock the compression, just push the piece of metal to the side.

I realized that my last post in this thread was quite short-sighted. Thank you Jurphaas for delivering the news, it really made my week. Thank you Sal and Spyderco so much for finally giving us the Delica with screw construction.

My advice is to find a Leatherman that fits your personal preferences and needs and get that. I've owned Gerbers, SOGs, and the Swisstool and they don't compare in my opinion. The Swisstool comes close but not all the way. I carry a Leatherman Sideclip in my pocket with my knives, a Wave in my schoo...

I find that either my Delica or Salt I is the perfect knife for carry 7 days a week. Whether I'm at work, church, or out on the town.
