Re: I've decided, (bleep) it, I'm, gonna carry my "nice" knife, replacement be damned...

Good on ya! I've had the same debate but I've found that I actually take way more joy in the "use" of something than the "having" of something. I've started selling knives I don't use now to buy new ones to experience them and hopefully find ones I like using even more. No backup...

Re: Why use a tough steel in a folding knife?

Tough steels have tough edges too. They can hold thinner edges without rolling or chipping making them better slicers. As many say, it's more about geometry than steel type, but if the steel type supports better geometries...

Re: PM3–what would it be?

I'd like to see a bit less of the choil in the blade so the blade to handle ratio was a bit more even. As it is, the blade is pretty short for how big the knife is.

Re: What stores in western Washington have a good Spyderco selection?

They had a few at the Blade Gallery in Kirkland last time I was there. Unfortunately that's not especially close to Gig Harbor. Might be worth a call to see what they have in stock.

Re: Do you use the brass guard rods with the sharpmaker?

I use a bar clamp to clamp the sharpmaker base to my work bench so I don't have my second hand in harms way. Makes it quick and easy to change angles or stones

Re: lc200n mule video

Sounds like Spyderco needs to offer some alternative hardware for the mule scales. Maybe someone could source some brass or Ti hardware and really make it a rustproof package.

Re: Sharpmaker angle choices

I sharpen most all my knives at 30 degrees with the diamond rods till I hit the Apex than put a 40 degree micro bevel on them with the brown stones. If it's a blade steel that works better with a fine edge I use the fine stone next. I touch up the 40 degree micro bevel with the brown stones as neede...

Gareth Bull Shamwari Collab! :D I'm digging the front flippers. Makes for a super clean design. Seems like a lot of South African knifemakers are using that opening style lately. Re: The end all Salt edc pair!

I've been waiting for the Manbug Salt to drop too. Looks like a great companion to my normal EDC knives. I usually carry a PM2, 940-1 or CRK Inkosi so the little serrated sheepsfoot should be a great compliment. Also great for biking and running when I don't want something big or something I have to...

Re: Are all Spyderco Knives Ambidextrous?

What about the restricted knives like the Autonomy? It's an Auto I believe. You'd need to be able to buy from Spyderco's restricted knives though, LEO, Military, ETC. Not sure if the button lock on that one would be considered ambidextrous though.

I like the format and new menus, especially the new filtering when you're searching for knives. I'm noticing the same jerky transition that others are noticing though. When I scroll down from the top of the page as soon as I move away from the very top, the scrolling banner disappears and the menu h...

Same with my Nirvana. I tried Sharpie first, but I think the pencil (graphite) works better. It's breaking in nicely.
