My blurple Military is definitely not counterfeit, and it is the same color as your darker one. There was actually a thread on this variation in tone a while back- some of the blurples are just darker than others.

Less aggressive but still plenty grippy. It has a dry, slightly rough texture that is very different than the Taichung carbon fiber.

I cut up a fair few critters a year between salmon harvest, small game and hopefully a moose/caribou. I sharpen my fillet and hunting knives to 800-ish grit and just a little bit of stropping. I’ve got a fair mix of users, special occasion and special purpose knives but the one I consistently use with zero f***s given is my SE H1 Pacific Salt. That one goes in the harm’s way while my GB2 is relegated to dry-weather cardboard duty.

I wish that Spyderco could give us more heads up on specific releases. If I knew say what 2-week period to start looking out for the knives I want it would do so much for my page refreshing anxiety.

Finally, an accessible chunk of Cruwear in a format that works for me. And it’s regular production?? Bravo, Spyderco!
