During the week... Chinese Folder and Spydercard (sometimes forget I have it). The weekend... Spydercard (of course), Military, Dodo, Native 3, SS Dragonfly, Blue Salsa, Meerkat, Almite Navigator, & Lil' Temp. Endura for yard work and the Toad for church. Naturally, I don't carry all of them at ...

My choice for MBC is the knife I have on me at the time, whether it is my Chinese Folder, Dodo, Endura, Lil’ Temperance, Military, or Native III. I know this isn’t the ideal way to go about a self defense knife but I do think about using the knife I am currently carrying to defend myself. I am hopef...

A while back someone pointed out that the there is more control at the base of the blade and having it be PE would increase control for those in-close ‘pulling toward the thumb’ cuts ( i.e. slicing an apple in the hand). I think the reversed combo edge is a very good idea. I would like to try one ou...

What ever you do, DO NOT play with the Gunting. I have cut myself opening it with my fingers. I recommend getting the trainer.

Ahh yes, the dreaded round tip! It is true that this can happen with the 204. It happens when you let the tip drag onto the flat surface when sharpening the bland using the corner. If you are pressing into the stone to hard then it will brush/rub against the flat side of the stone, toward the last o...

I only use WD-40 to clean the blades and SS handles. I am relatively certain that WD-40 gums up the action when lint gets into the action with it; as I have had this happen. I do like White lightening. I think the secret to using it is to let it dry completely before sticking it in your pocket (20 m...

I have found that after constant use, WD-40 will become very sticky and gunky. This happened to my muti-tool and it took at least six lubes with White Lightning to get the action smooth again. I would definitely not recommend WD-40 for anything but cleaning, which it does extremely well. I like to s...

Thank you for the quick reply. I will definitely check out a cutlery store for the strips. I might have a solution to your scratching/chipping problem. Buy some sticky back felt (or any fabric that is thin) and cover the magnetic strip. That should keep the knives from being scratched or dinged. If ...

Magnetic knife strip

Does anyone know where I could buy a magnetic knife strip to put on the kitchen wall so that I can keep the knives I use handy? I saw one at the Spyderco Factory Outlet a couple of years ago.

I love my Sankoku, I use it every day at work. I've had it for about 4 months now and haven't had to sharpen it yet, just hone with a steel. An excellent knife!
