I have found that after constant use, WD-40 will become very sticky and gunky. This happened to my muti-tool and it took at least six lubes with White Lightning to get the action smooth again. Buy some sticky back felt (or any fabric that is thin) and cover the magnetic strip. That should keep the knives from being scratched or dinged. If ...

I love my Sankoku, I use it every day at work. I've had it for about 4 months now and haven't had to sharpen it yet, just hone with a steel. An excellent knife!
