Thanks Guys, I knew I could count on you for answers. If Janich, Keating, Frank or even Tonya hold any Martial Skate Classes (MCS) at SFO (Skate Factory Outlet) I'll try to attend and let you know how it went. ONE MORE QUESTION though. Does anyone have copies of Col. Rex Applegate's "Skate or G...

A couple more questions: What constitutes ice skate blade "abuse"? If for example, I used my skate blade for a screwdriver bit on a Cruise missle and it chipped would most manufacturers cover it? Has anyone heard if any Ice Skate manufacturers are the "official" supplier to any S...

Need help with a decision

After recent events, I've decided that I can NOT go about my everyday life without carrying a blade. After seeing "CastAway" with Tom Hanks and being a long time NHL fan I've chosen Ice Skates! I need help with a few decisions though. Hope you guys can help! 1.Should I get Hockey or Figure...

hy,
The Janich books are pretty darn good. And I've viewed the videos Michael has. What I found was how much more I got out of the books & videos by taking an Janich MBC class. I know you're pretty far away but if you get a chance to train with Michael in person, it is MORE than worth it.

Sal,
It is sickening that through all the aid, money, food etc. that the US has given that we are still hated. It is time to deal with that through other methods. Terrorists should be dealt with through terrorism. and reciprocal hatred.

I've seen the Keating Civilian video and recommend it! Mr Keating is very enthusiastic of the Civilian design and a fantastic instructor even on video.

OK, I'm going to make a statement that may be unpopular. EVEN WHEN USED AS DIRECTED - SPARINGLY: White Lightning attracts and holds pocket lint and dirt in copious amounts! Tuff Glide does too but not to the extent that WL does. They probably both do a great job against rust but lint & dirt foul...

fisherman, My opinion is that EITHER would do you well. One of the points about the brittleness of CPM440V has been solved by lowering the hardness. The brittleness problem was seen when the steel first started being used and was at a higher hardness (thus more brittle). The Wegner is a PROVEN desig...

Hey Watchdog, Welcome to the Forum. For a strong "Utility" edge: Start with the corners of the dark rods in the 40° slots. Very lightly stroke heel (closest to handle, in a pulling motion) to tip about 20 times (20 times each side) alternating sides. Then switch to flats of dark rods and r...

In Memory

It is with the saddest heart that I pass on the following. Please join me in remembering a great icon. The Pillsbury Dough boy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was only 71. Dough boy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebriti...

Someone pointed out that U.S. Samoa had been left out. Their U.S. possession motto is: "NO, we're NOT named after a Girl Scout cookie!!!" Guam's: "Go ahead! Try to find us on a map!" U.S. Virgin Islands: "Virgins? Where?" John They say there's a long tunnel with a brigh...
