Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

These sales are getting ridiculous! So far in the last couple weeks I've picked up a Blurple PM2, Delica, Tenacious, and now I just got a Para 3. Between Spyderco and eBay they really know how to make you part with your money :D

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Lil' Native. I love it, fits in my fifth pocket and even though it's tiny compared to a PM2 or Manix it's still plenty useful.

The standard s30v is good too. All around good performance, and I like the fact that it's easy to sharpen.

I cut open a bunch of plastic 60 lb. bags of concrete a few weeks ago. Went from shaving sharp to butter knife after a dozen or so bags.

Just get a PM2. I'd recommend s30v, it's a good all around steel and it's easy to sharpen.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

Just got me a Lil' Native and it's awesome. It feels tiny in my hand but it flips open and closed really quick and smooth just like a pm2 once you get used to it.

Re: Pm2 in m4 vs s30v

Keep 'em both. You can never have too many PM2s ;)

Actually I'd probably sell the M4 since it will net a little more $$ but that's just my 2 cents.

Re: Nick's question of "why"?

The custom shop idea is nice, but I can see why they don't do it that way. From a manufacturing perspective it's easier to set everything up, and then knock them all out at once. With so many models, they'd probably need another factory just to handle all the custom orders. That's just my speculati...

Yep, a Sharpie and a 10x jeweler's loupe are great for seeing exactly what's going on while you're sharpening.

Re: How and Where i carry my Spyderco delica 4.

Yeah the Delica is perfect for basketball shorts, or waist band carry. Super light, strong bias towards closed, no worries it will pop open. Not something I'd do with an AO or push button auto, lol.

Has anyone else noticed this about Spyderco knives?

Had this thought the other day and thought it was kind of amusing. I own a handful of Spydies. Mostly just the Manix 2, PM2, and a couple each of their color/steel variants, and also a Delica. Each time I got one out of the box, I was never really blown away. I got a PM2 because of all the rave revi...

Re: Why no steel strops?

I've had mixed results with leather strops. I feel like they can do just as much bad as they can good if you're not careful. If I take a leather strop with green compound and free hand it, a lot of the time I get no noticeable improvement on the edge. However, if I use my leather strop plate on the ...

Re: Does anybody else really dislike the look of spyderco knives?

I appreciate the simplicity and utility of the Spydie Hole. Yeah it's great, it lets you deploy the blade a number of different ways, like a thumbstud, middle finger flick, Spyder drop, etc... plus there's no annoying thumbstuds globbed in red loctite to get in the way when you're sharpening. As fa...

Re: Why buy a custom when there's Spyderco?

I guess it's just the nature of any hobby. There's always the ones that go all out and try to have the best of the best, bragging rights, something that's exclusive, etc etc, and they figure the more they spend they more they get in return. I see it in just about every hobby of mine. Then at the opp...
