Thx Jabba, it does appear they're making it easier (cheaper) for smaller dealers to commission a run.

Long video that explains why (in most cases) ffg, (or convex) is better than a hollow grind.

Re: Manix2 4v marbled carbon fiber exclusive
Yea would be nice if all dealers would follow SNK's lead and release during the evening hours, so the majority of working folks would at least have a shot at one. Instead of catering to the flippers who sit at home all day eating Cheetos.

full flat = no brainer. This grind however, no go.
In the past weren't most exclusives 1200 piece runs? what changed?

nabbed mine, glad they did this later in the day for the working people, instead of catering to the flipppers who sit home all day eating Cheetos.

Re: Meet the Expert | Phil Wilson
Rex121, Vanax, dialed in Heat Treats, so much awesome in this one. Always admired the down to earth attitude of Phil Wilson, all while he's pushing to find the extreme limits of cutting edge newer steels. Combine this with Shawn, a sharpening MADMAN, and budding knife maker. Good stuff! Gotta ask ab...

Re: HAP 72 or CPM REX 121 Spydie
Let's do neither so we can get prices back down to reasonable levels. There's already a Byrd line for the price conscious, and S30V available in the normal line. I'm pretty sure Spyderco's competition would love for them to stop pushing the envelope, stop innovating, become unprofitable, and fade a...

Re: 3V or 4V Steel in a folder.
I have a Bark River Fox River in 3V (fixed blade) that has skinned deer and wild boar. Holds an edge extremely well and sharpens easily on Naniwa water stones. As virtuovice (on the tube) has pointed out, great for getting the back straps off an animal, and a pretty good skinner to boot. I'd love to...

Re: Your General HRC Preference?
What "general" final length, width, and thickness, should a gun belt be? Depends on hip size, belt loops, weight of load out, etc. HRC is just the result of tweaking a heat treat to bring out the qualities you desire from a particular steel or alloy. What qualities are you seeking? What ma...

Re: Next Generation Military suggestions thread?!?!
Obviously the choil is important to some. As well as the lanyard tube placement, to allow for deep carry.
Done right, I can see this PXL being a great sprint knife.

Re: Next Generation Military suggestions thread?!?!
With so many opposed to changing the Military. What I think that I need (want? :D) is a PARA 2 XL or simply call it the PARA XL Why is that? It already has most of the features I love; Compression lock? CHECK! Tip up? CHECK! Make it with a longer blade, shaped like the military. Bud-da-bing problem ...

Para2 in K390 = no brainer.
I'd also buy a Manix XL.
If a tip up CQI Military was ever sorted (or PM2 XL), that as well.

Re: Yojimbo 2 CPM20CV and carbon fiber C85CF20CVP2
I don't buy from aliexpress because I want authentic, legit steel that matches the tang marking, with a quality heat treat. That said, wanted to see what it was you're referring too there. No knife results when using Yojimbo as the keyword. It's just as well, wouldn't of given them a nickel anyway. ...

Re: EDC for Foodies- A lightweight SpydieChef
When it comes to material cost, and some crude logic, one might think the thicker blades cost more. ie price per pound. Can't use that logic with LC200N exactly, as Sal has commented that with LC200N "the thinner stock is much more expensive due to increased rolling". Read many comments on...

Re: Spyderco Catcherman?
Thanks for the warm welcome JD, Spyderedge's, not sure why I've avoided those for so long. I think now (looking back) I had this idea I was loosing valuable smoooooth cutting edge. That along with a perception of tedious sharpening of all those little teeth. Or heck, even that I just didn't need it....

Thanks for fielding that one Radioactive
Thought my comment about "buying secondary" covered that possibility, and thusly why I asked if it was purchased directly from Spyderco (to immediately rule out a fake).
