I used mine to open a package that contained...another Spyderco.

Really interested in this knife - can anyone from Spyderco give us a hint as to when it will be released?

Also wondering what the overall width of the Sage 5 will be vs. the Chaparral FRN.

Still waiting on the Sage 5 LW.

I only have the newest Chaparral FRN - can someone post a pic of the old and new together - are there any obvious differences?

Just got my new FRN Chap - date code is GS meaning 7/2019 as far as I can tell.

Just spoke with a rep at BHQ who confirmed these are the new ones. I also contacted Spyderco Customer Service. They said they had just received their shipment of the improved version of the Chap and that the items at BHQ (and probably any other knife stores) are in fact the updated knives.

At BladeHQ. I'm assuming this is the CQI'd version?

Anyone have an idea when the Sage 5 LW will be released? Seems like it should be soon.

Would love to see a Cruwear FRN LW Manix 2 with deep carry wire clip in the future.

That KnifeCenter preorder link has been up for as long time so I don't believe that's any indication they will soon have stock. Concerning availability of the Chap FRN: At least some European dealers state: "Availability July 19" or "+/+ one week", on knifecenter one can at least...

I'm thinking I need a Native 5 FRN. Go with the standard S30V or something else? I don't care for the yellow colored Salt version. The Spydercos I'm looking at getting are: Native 5 LW, Sage 5 LW, CQI Chaparral LW. I also have an older style Native from over 10 years ago - with the other knives I'm ...

How does this knife/steel rate for EDC compared to say, the Chaparral LW, or Native 5 LW other than being a bit shorter in blade length?

Why no wire clip on this model?

Chaparral LW is almost always the best choice. Spyderco doesn’t make a better small EDC knife.

What are you using to sharpen your knives?

I've never done it myself but I will eventually get a Sharpmaker.
