Re: Ouch

Thank you all for the support. I will definitely be less careless moving forward. It only takes a quarter second to close a knife... :o

Re: Ouch

Update: Went to doc before work today, and she held off on the stitches. Basically what RustyIron said. Apparently I did a decent job with the butterfly strips and it already started to heal and stays closed now. Just a cleaning and some new steri-strips glued on. Should be good in 8 days when they ...

Right on Bloke. Was typing when you posted. Naperville, Cycletroll, and you make enough votes, that I’d be a fool not to. Headed there when it opens.

Re: Ouch

FYI, Nuskin is only suposed to be used on superficial cuts. That laceration needs butterfly strips at minimum and could definitly benefit from a couple/three sutures. Sorry you suffered the vorpal sharpness of your Spyderco :( You’re absolutely right Cycletroll. The liquid skin is not adequate enou...

Re: Ouch

Thank you for the advice guys. Much appreciated. Wife said stitches too. Don’t have the stuff not skills to properly do it myself. So I’ll be headed to promptcare in the morning. Only real pain is my pride. Sucked to walk in and have to tell her what happened :o Which then made me think about of tha...

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

I felt the same way when I first got mine a couple months ago. By the end of my third day with it, no longer was an issue. Not sure if it just needed a little break in period, or I developed a callous. Either way, any time I pocket it now, it’s a lot easier to operate. Thanks, McGrit! Hopefully it’...

Ouch

Dropped my knife tonight. Hap40 Endura. Foolishly was holding it open while tossing recyclables into the can. Caught my leg on the way down. Got me good. Should’ve just took the quarter second it would’ve taken to close it. Went just over a quarter inch deep, but left me a nice half inch hole in my ...

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

My much awaited Advocate finally arrived yesterday much to my excitement as it’s the first flipper I’ve ever owned. The knife is as perfect a specimen as a production knife gets I reckon but I’m left scratching my head at how awkward and uncomfortable it is to disengage the lock. I have medium size...

Re: BladeHQ M4 Jade Dodo

Looks absolutely amazing. Like doeswhatever says, a perfect package opener. Especially clam packs. But it also looks like I would struggle to sharpen it, so I’m going to pass. Can’t wait to see what jade/m4 is next though! Don't let sharpening stop you I have a Spyderco Plain Edge Dark Blue Lil' Ma...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

Y'all new to sprint runs or what? I likely was buying Spydies before you were born, so no, I am not new to sprint runs. I am new to the lack of availability of a legitimate source to buy a knife a week after the company issues a statement that they have shipped. That would be easy to find out. She'...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

No, i was thinking more like (never mind the numbers, the're just to illustrate the point) Blade $10 liners and hardware $6 scales $6 box $o.50 That would make $22,50 which no sane person would sell it for even though that was the actual cost/sum of the parts :) EDIT: Also, to my knowledge Spyderco...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

... And DirtMcGirt: I hear what you're saying, but that's really splitting hairs. Name one single item that is sold for the price of the sum of the parts, be they domestic or imported. I know for a fact after 10 years as a truck driver that Scania trucks have parts from 5-8 countries. Would i expec...

Re: Shaman Cru-Wear Sprint Run release ?

Going by some of the statements and opinions I’ve seen posted here and elsewhere, anyone who buys a knife for X amount of dollars, then sells it for X+y dollars, is a “flipper”. So wouldn’t that make Spyderco a “flipper”? Don’t they purchase knives made by other makers(to their specs of course), lik...

+1 another vote for street beat.

But would be interested in something completely new as well. 3.25 seems like would be great size for an edc fixed blade.

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

#1 is Maxamet. Stays sharp forever.
#2 is M4. I really like how sharp I can get it.
#3 is 52100. Same reason as M4, but M4 seems to stay sharper longer.
