Re: Sharpening Services In Southern California?

Hi John, I would second what Sal has said. Definitely get yourself a sharp maker, and watch the videos. Practice on some inexpensive knives first. And remember light strokes, not a lot of pressure on the stones. I was right where you are at one point. Now I can sharpen M390, M4, Cruwear, K390, H1, e...

Re: The Native 5 Salt and Why It's So Awesome.

Good stuff Lance. Always enjoy your posts. Been fishing more / real world testing as well. My Pac Salt SE hasn't seen a speck of rust. Weeks and months without washing salt, blood, etc. This is extreme, as most the time I give it a quick rinse. Slowing down on the knife buying, but I think I can mak...

My Cruwear arrived very stiff. Washed it all out under water, compressed air, blue lube, good to go. Like night and day.

Fixed Blades?

Would like to start out that I love all my Spyderco's. Little late to this Spyderco party, but in reality the party never ends. (Discipline Starts) Thank you Shawn (Deadboxhero) for the memes (lol) because Maxamet needs to straight up happen. Spyderco, thank you for seeing it through (Maxamet). We a...

Re: Input on which salt knife

The other day, I had a palm branch dead and hanging in my backyard. I had my Pac Salt SE on me. I would say it was about 5-6 inches wide. Reaching and on one foot, my draw cut about 3/4 of the way through. I stopped and looked at it, and the my first thought was "Wow". I sure wouldn't want...

When will the PRC change? Only when it costs them more than they make from cheating and stealing. Their mouth says one thing but their actions say another. The more you tolerate the less they respect you.

Re: DAM Quick fishing reels?

Here is a picture of the Daiwa SS No.1 I never owned or used any of those older "Daiwa" reels but I've got several friends that I've fished with over the years that really like those reels. I've got a book in storage which was compiled by a guy here in the USA named Ben Wright. I believe ...

I love it.
Holds a great edge, easy to sharpen, no chipping with hard use. No patina, acts stainless. Didn't understand the Cruwear hype. Now I do.

Re: China and tariffs

Makers in China counterfeit almost everything we make. Free trade, fair trade. BS. sal Exactly. :) And at what point is this BS going to change? Ebay knows it, doesn't care. Reported about a dozen, even escalated to management. Nada. Every listing they remove they lose money. And it always comes do...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??

It is really hard to kick this PM2 CPM Cruwear out of my pocket. I changed the smooth g-10, to the textured. It's a workhorse.

Nice nights out, take the M390.
Headed to the beach, replaced by the Pac Salt SE.

Re: DAM Quick fishing reels?

Trout: My favorite are the older Daiwa Japan SS No.1's. I have two of them, and they are solidly built. + No plastic internals. The Daiwa SS900 are nice as well. Also a fan of the older Abu Garcia's 307's. I was able to pick up a few mint ones from the 70's. Once I got all that old grease out of the...

So for those who are unwilling to buy a knife made in China - do you follow this practice with other goods or just knives?
I do my level best not to buy anything at all that’s made in China. :)
+1, as hard as that is.
